Friend Telling Me She Has A Vision I Will Die--Nice!
Piplula replied to 2013isit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope you aren't asking your friend for envisioned lottery numbers!!!! I am sorry..and I really don't mean this to be mean, but it sounds like your friend is miserable and scared and wants you to join the party. I would have to pass on that party invite! -
Hang in there RJ! Just remember ...all the outside stuff can be fixed...but that poor fellow that did that..well you just can't fix ugly, know what I mean? Hold your head high, you're a caterpillar that will emerge as the butterfly you always were! Now if that had been me, II would have let out a loud fart or something of the like and said, "now that's funny jackass"! But then again..that's me!

Well..I think I am a little better since I did my Ease into 5 k app. I plan on doing it again tonight..so if I get on whining..just tell me "good job" and "take an Alleve"! I will get over it!

A Question For The Females..
Piplula replied to irish1988's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Yep ..down from a 46 D to a 42 C ....down 101# pounds since April 3rd..and I am starting to look at B cups like I was in high school. -
I am really going to try not to sound mean here..I am very concerned because 150 sleeves is not very many when we are talking about human lives here. My surgeon has performed 1,000s with a low complication rate. I think it is important that people who are looking into surgery should ask this question. I realize doctors have to start somewhere. In fact, a doctor who is entering the field performed my surgery, but my dr. that has the 1,000s under his belt was in the OR with the resident and monitored the whole procedure. I fortunately did not have complications. I realize even dr.s with more experience have problems occasionally as well, but we all know with experience comes wisdom ...in theory the more you do something, the more you should be experienced in the procedure. I hope you are healing and feeling better. Your experience can guide the newbies to make good decisions for their own health down the road! Ask the questions that we sometimes forget to ask. Thank you for sharing!

Ok.here is my problem. I started the ease into 5k app yesterday and today I am so sore in my hips and inner thighs it isn't funny at this point. I did walk today and perhaps that was a no no. Any tips to help with soreness? Or just advice? I plan on doing a yoga tape here in a minute to see if I can loosen up some. Thanks for your help!

Butta, No your not...lol...you remember how you felt and know exactly where I am coming from friend! It's ok, you can laugh at me, I've got pretty thick skin..you had to in my family...I was the smart fat one ..pretty only in the face...in a world of beauty queens...literally. Anyway..fear not, I won't give up because my coworkers and I are in training for our town's Tea Pot 5k Trot. Can't disappoint my peeps! -

So far walking and yoga.. I never ran before..even when I was on the elliptical machine, I didn't hurt that bad..I moved things that I think haven't been moved before. I did about 1.5 miles..with interval walking and running. I did stretch and warmup with a warm down. I have Saucony running shoes..love them. I have seen the foam roll, and am seriously think of purchasing one. I just did Rodney Yee's AM yoga twists and feel much better. I am still sore, but not near as intense. I will certainly look into the calm product as well..Thanks for the advice. -
I had GERD prior to surgery and it was 10,000xs worse after surgery...omperazole was like taking a sugar placebo pill. I had my medication adjusted and feel much better. Perhaps it is time to talk with his surgical team, RD and GI doc to plan a course of action for him! I hope he gets to feeling better.

Hello all! I am looking for suggestions for upbeat songs for exercising. I have some ideas ...I do like Womanizer by Brittney Spears..and Gangnam Style...just wanted some suggestions for your favorite music you exercise to. Thanks in advance!

Gosh ..that is horrible! I too am interested in hearing who your surgeon was. With any surgery, there is always a risk of complication...but your's seems very extreme! Wishing you healing thoughts and prayers!

I agree with this assessment. Also remember, everyone has different rates at which we metabolize and burn calories. Even your gender plays a part on how we metabolize food and how over bodies respond to exercise!

Honestly, I started too early and developed a hematoma that hurt like hell and was painful for 2 months inhibiting my ability to exercise for a longer period of time. If I would have waited, I may not have had the hematoma. Be careful! Always allow your body to heal first..: but you already now this! Just remember...what would you tell your patient? Give yourself the same care you would give your patient.
