    Wheeeeee....gum Biopsy!

Well..about 2 months after my surgery, I started having problems with my gums and I never had before..I have excellent oral hygiene..no cavities ..so I had to go to a periodontist...feeling ok today..the site itself doesn't hurt...but where I had the injection on that nerve does..so I have a headache..nothin that can't be managed! I am doing great! Thanks for asking....makes me feel better!

    Wheeeeee....gum Biopsy!

Ok..update. Becoming not so numb. They took at pea size chunk out of my gum! Didn't hurt when it was done...but I am starting to feel it ...I will be sore in the am....too bad I talk for a living! I'll let you all know what comes back! Maybe it isn't an autoimmune disorder. But..if it isn't ..then I am back to square one ...oh well....I will cross that bridge when I get to it....

    Bad Multivitamin!

I did vomit those Vitamins. When I switched I didn't have problems with nausea anymore. Try the Flintstones complete 2/day and see if its better. The great hint is they 1) Taste way better, 2) are cheaper, 3) less volume to take, &. 4) contain all the nutrient and vitamins you need if you take 2 per day.

    Annoying Psych Eval

Awesome! At least she followed up with your counselor who knows your situation better instead of a quick snap judgement...that old adage "first impressions mean everything" isn't always the correct assumption!
  9. I had severe lactose intolerance after surgery and I didn't before surgery. I was even unable to drink Lactaid milk. So I switched to Light Soy milk and used Unjury protein powder without problems. When I did this, each shake was about 28 grams of protein for 8oz of fluid. At about a month out, I was able to tolerate EAS Carb Advatedge ready to drink shakes. Now that I am 6 months out, I am ever so slowly introducing milk products back. Plain cow's milk still causes me a little problem, but its better...most other milk products are back on the menu. It just took that long for my stomach to produce the enzyme, lactase, again. Tell him it gets better. The first month for me was hellish. It's difficult to make your plans if you don't know if you going to have the screaming diarrhea from hell that knocks buzzards off of gut wagons....in public much less in your own home. I made sure I was always within a 5 second walking distance of a toilet and had flushable wipes on my person at all times. I get it...believe me..I get it. But...it does get better. Good luck! Try the plain soy milk for awhile...and then slowly introduce milk when you are a couple of months out. Remember...I am 6 months out and just now have started eating Greek yogurt without issue. If I had tried that at even 3 moths out, it wouldn't have been pretty!
  10. Cashew chicken down the street at the local Chinese joint....blew chunks...was so worth it though...lol...won't do it again!

I Have A Conundrum Need To Vent....

I don't know..she could have a case because the 2008 American Disability Act classifies obesity as a disability...just a thought.

I Had A Breakdown At Work Today

I completely understand where you are coming from. I personally have ruined more photo ops for family, friends, newspaper articles, ect ect ect ....because I detested the way I looked in pictures. I was even threatened to be fired if I didn't take my picture with my coworkers for a gentlemen that was retiring from a government position I had no contact with. Let's just say my go to hell look said it all and it's in print forever! And all of these feelings about my picture being taken occurred even before I was considered obese. So yes I understand. It is an anxiety inducing ordeal. In fact, I don't have family portraits for this reason. I have them of my hubby and daughter...but I am clearly, irrevocably absent. Now that I have had my sleeve, I am finding the camera is a little friendlier. Do I enjoy my picture being taken now? Nope..that probably won't ever change. But do I hide or pretend I am having intractable diarrhea to get out of a photo op?? No...I stand up and smile because I know either way...it's going to happen. Will I get some family portraits ...I am reconsidering it. Either way, once you lose weight..the camera isn't as bad as it seems.
