Question

Do you still have your gall bladder? I am only a year out, but was experiencing some similar problems and it was my gall bladder. I got it out, no more problems.
  2. I actually had a slippage that was discovered because I started having severe reflux. This was discovered about 2.5 weeks ago. My doctor removed all my saline and it almost instantly fixed the problem. I haven't had any reflux since. I went back today and they did another barium swallow and it showed the band was normal. I opted to not have a fill at the advise of my doctor. I am still loosing pretty steady. I had surgery in June 07 and I have lost 80lbs. I haven't gained since my unfill. I do however feel less restricted. I am trying to exercise and eat small amounts.
  3. After a slippage I had all my saline removed. However, I went to the doctor today and I have lost 4.5 lbs since Feb. 2nd and 80 lbs since my June 19th(07) surgery date. My doctor said today that he would recommend waiting (as long as I was still loosing at a good pace). I still have alot of restriction without saline in my band. I would recommend waiting. I have been overfilled and it was miserable.

    helpful hints

I would say my best advise is take off at least 1 week, start walking right away, and buy plenty of different kinds of Protein drinks. I bought a variety and it helped because you get bored drinking the same thing meal after meal.

Also, reward yourself for small goals. It helps. THe first 4 weeks were the hardest for me. I thought I would never make it though the liquid stage. I, however, lost alot of weight during that time.

  5. I had surgery June 19th and tomorrow (July 13th) I finally get some mushies. I have lost 22 pounds. I was just wondering what you ate first. I have read some posts about mashed potatoes alot. However, I know that proteins are my target. I want to keep on losing. :clap2:

    newly banded!

I think things do improve day by day. Yesterday, I was lacking energy and it was my first day back at work. I left at 3:30 and went home and directly to bed for a couple hours. Today, so far I am handling work better. I am not sure why my doctor requires liquids for so long. Every doctor is different.

    newly banded!

I was banded on the 19th. THis first week has been tough. I think the liquid diet can be boring. I do have to say that I am not really hungry though. I will be on the liquids until July 13th. How about you??

    Incision Question-picture warning

I had surgery on Tuesday also. I think you should call. My incision is about the same size and bruised but definatley not red like that . I agree that you have paid enough money to these folks to be able to ask when you are concerned.

    June 19, 2007

Well, today is my big day. I am a little scared, but most of all I have a really bad headache this morning. I think I should have drank more yesterday. I was so tired of going to the bathroom though. The clean out process was awful. It is about 3:45 and we will be leaving at 4. I am ready to lose this weight. I really pray everything goes well. :nervous

    Lifting

I am scheduled to have lap band surgery on June 19th. I was just wondering if anyone knows about the limitations on lifting weight after surgery. I have a 10 year old in a wheelchair. I have looked through the materials my doctor gave me and there is nothing there regarding this issue. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks:)

    Lifting

Thanks you guys. Another thing I just got on my mind. I am sure that is a part of discharge orders. He weighs 80 pounds. I will be sure to get help for the first few weeks.
