Good for you! My head hunger came and went. I think only 3 or 4 times I can distinctly recall kind of bummed that I COULDN'T eat something. Thanks Lissa! You are such a regular inspiration to me! I started my Couch to 5K today because you make working out sound like so much fun! Thanks for your constant support! Thanks! I will. So far Water is the hardest thing for me to take slow - oh! And remembering to not drink while I eat. That's a toughy!

8 Days Out Of Surgery, Ready To Take On The World.
NancyJerry replied to Saint_Sammie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgery went so good, I almost felt guilty. I was nauseous for about a day and a half, then never again. I was walking a mile then two within a couple days of surgery. If I overdid it, then I took a pain pill and a nap. But pain pill usage was very minimal. Don't hurry through your food stages and enjoy the ride. I'm 8 weeks post op and have lost almost half of my excess weight! Good luck!! -
How Long Till You Were Able To Sleep In A Bed..
NancyJerry replied to Shilo30's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh! I can relate. I couldn't sleep in my bed until night 3 of being home. I slept on my back and put a big square couch cushion under my knees to support my lower back but my hubby had to help me up from such a flat position. Then a genius moment came. Had a new, overstuffed dog bed that my dog refused to use and I used that plus well positioned other pillows to create a reclined and comfy position in bed. I finally could lay flat after about a week of that. -
So glad it went well for you!! With that attitude you'll do great!!

Protein How Do You Get It In
NancyJerry replied to Anewlifeforme23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. EAS makes tasty ones, too, but they only have 17-20 grams of protein and I'm lovin' the 30grams in one drink!! Greek yogurt has got a great amount of protein as well as cottage cheese! I was one of the lucky ones. I was getting 50 gms in the day I got home from surgery and easily hit 75 and up daily. It's worth it to me to ATTEMPT to keep my hair (also take Zinc, Biotin and my multi vit). You'll get there - don't give up!! -
So very great, Jailynn!! Joni, I am njerry on MFP! I'm not as seasoned and far out as Jailynn, Lissa and Dorrie but we can ride this wave together!

How Did You Choose Your Screen Name?
NancyJerry replied to Pookeyism's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stumbled upon this thread today and fell in love with these awesome stories. I'd have to go back through all 6pages to start quoting my favorites and the ones that made me laugh out loud! I think, though I take the cake for most unoriginal. I've never had a nickname and I figured it would just be easier for people to call me Nancy. Thanks! I've really enjoyed this!! -
I get my extra vitamin D through my Viactiv Calcium chew.

I'm hoping to get there too, LIssa! School for me consumes about 15-16 hours per day and there is no gym between me and work. I bike ride on the weekends but it's not the same as a whole body workout like that. My gym membership starts on June 1 - CAN'T WAIT!!

Letter From Primary Doctor
NancyJerry replied to Odee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My clinic gave me a template and my doc said she writes so many of them she didn't need it and wrote it for me while I sat in the room, then left with it. Bariatric clinic girls said that's practically unheard of for a doc to make it happen so quickly - lol! -

The Most Important Thing To Remember Before Surgery!
NancyJerry replied to StrangelyNormal's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
True-True! -
Aw. I'm sorry you feel like that! I think it's easier said than done that "we are not supposed to compare progress to others." We all do to an extent! But really, now. 77 pounds gone is nothing to sneeze at and you've got to feel like a million buck, right? I'm sure you've inspired your share of people too! (you've inspired ME!) I can't wait to shed 77 pounds! Hang on to the positives whenever you can!

What Week Were You Able To Eat Normal Food?
NancyJerry replied to B~Happy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It didn't get REALLY hard until about last weekend!! In some ways it's helped me battle my head hunger too, so maybe there's a method to their madness!! Hang in there! -

What Week Were You Able To Eat Normal Food?
NancyJerry replied to B~Happy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon and plan seem to be one of the most restrictive I've come across on the forum. I'm a little over 7 weeks out and I'll be able to add eggs, cheese, fish and beans NEXT week. I've been tempted to cheat since a lot of people here talk about their plans including these soft foods at like 2 weeks. But, I'm a chicken to cheat. I chose my surgeon and pledged to do whatever they said. Good luck. -

2 Days Post Op, Feeling Icky
NancyJerry replied to Nola_Loser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only felt yucky for about 30-ish hours post op. Mostly because I couldn't get up and walk due to nausea!! But as soon as I could I walked every hour or two around the clock. Middle of the night walks were quite peaceful. Like it has already been mentioned- walking will help a lot and you'll feel better everyday!
