Yay for you and your new found quality of life!! Thanks for sharing!!

My sister got banded and had an enlarged liver, although they caught it before her surgery. They made her go to a specialist that diagnosed her as having fatty liver disease, then had to go for a biopsy. Everything turned out alright in the end, they just made her jump through a lot of hoops to be safe. I know how devastated she was by having the surgery postponed about 2 months (by the time she got to all of the other specialists, etc), so I can't even imagine your level of disappointment. But like Deb said, better safe than sorry. I know that's not comforting now, but you are pursuing this sleeve surgery to have a better quality of life and you don't want to jeopardize that! Hang in there!

That's so cool. I noticed how much easier it was to shave my legs today. It's a great reminder as to why I REALLY had this surgery. Not to just see some number show up on a scale, but to improve the quality (and cleanliness) of my life! Thanks for sharing!!

I don't face Heart burn as often as pre-surgery, but I have a prescription of Nexium and I swear by it's effectiveness!

I'm no where near goal, but many of the posts I've read, from very successful people, claim that they don't have to track their food nearly as much if they exercise regularly and following the plan of Protein first, then Veggies, then Starches/Carbs. Good luck!

I see your reference to MyFitnessPal, but as an added plus to why I like that SO much is most every food I eat is already there. Their library of foods is very comprehensive! For me, that makes it so easy!

I had more of a problem with the waist bands on my pants than bras. I had a week and a half off before going back to work, so I wore a tank with a shelf bra in it around the house for comfort.

Hi Robin! And good for you to be making the plans and jumping through the hoops to get your Sleeve. It is a life changing event and the time will pass more quickly than you think. How to get started.....maybe slowly. Do you watch tv? Get up at EVERY commercial and walk in place. Set a timer to walk outside for 5 or 10 minutes every couple of hours. Sometimes baby steps are really just baby steps. I loved, loved, loved food. My pre-op diet was not as strict as a lot of the ones I see posted here and it made me feel so good. All I had to do was cut out sugar and carbs. Everything else was unlimited. Meats and most veggies plus added 50 additional grams of protein per day. I lost more weight doing that than I've lost in the past 2 weeks; and I didn't feel deprived. Just some suggestions. I know you'll do it if it's what you want in your mind, body and soul. P.S. - Don't lay around with a cold (that's how colds turn into bronchitis and pneumonia) get outside and walk around. Your lungs will thank you! Good luck, we're here for you!

Do you use My Fitness Pal? It's an awesome way to track your food, Water and exercise. The list of foods to choose from is SO comprehensive -I love it. You're down 86 pounds and probably a whole lot more knowledgeable than me, but I read a lot of posts with the reminder of Protein first, then veggies then starches. Good luck to you!!

I Thought Would Feel Different
NancyJerry replied to MoogleQueen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to chime in too. I was sleeved on 3/27. I'm down about 27 total from pre-op and 20 from surgery. I haven't lost any in almost 2 weeks. But like Bratvp says, it's more progress than I've made on most any other diet. I have to remind myself ALL THE TIME...."I didn't gain the weight overnight...." Are you getting your Vitamins in? That will go A LONG WAY toward helping with depression. Those B-vits are critical. And getting out and exercising will help so much releasing good-feeling endorphins. We ARE NOT going to fail this time! Hang in there. We can lean on each other!! Message any time if you want to chat! -

Like it has been mentioned. You are not going to want any sugar (naturally occurring or not) during this time period. Good luck on May 10th!! -
Seems like there are a lot of posts about stalls today. Lean on the knowledge and encouragement of the amazing and successful people of this forum. I'm in a stall too, we just have to be patient. As the saying goes...."We didn't put the weight on overnight......" Hang in there!
