Dimple/hole/dip Incision On Stomach
NancyJerry replied to pinky62611's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I have this too. If you watch videos, like on UTube, of the procedure, you'll see that they put a "thing" that looks like a cylinder in that particular incision. That is where they fill you with gas and pull your excised stomach out. On one video it looked like, from the INSIDE, that at the base of the cylinder something rotates in a circle to clear the area away. This would essentially push the fat out of the area causing this indented area. Mine is already less noticeable. -
Hi Ashely! How awesome for you!! Ok...so you said ask, so I've just got to....How much did your breast lift cost? Mine are getting pretty saggy and I've only lost about 35 pounds! I figure by the time I'm done I'm going to be strapping the ladies down with my belt at my waist! LOL

So sorry for your shocking news. Good luck on your road to recovery! What are your doctor's recommendations/predictions?

NancyJerry replied to Queen of Crop's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Yay for YOU!!! Oh my Gosh - 70 pounds is so amazing. I'll be curious to see what others think. Mine are already drooping and I've only lost about 30-ish pounds. I keep thinking my next gift to myself will be a boob and face lift! LOL -
Psych Evaluation - What To Expect?
NancyJerry replied to dreamnslim2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do a survey first. There were like 200 short statements that I have to rate on a 1-5 scale and a lot of the the statements were the same but worded differently. Like: "On a scale o 1 -5 do you feel like you have a support system in place?" Then later I'd read: "On a scale of 1-5 are you lacking support?" The Doc said they don't do that to trip you up but to see if you can read and comprehend. We are expected to be educated about this journey and we have to sign A LOT of forms for consent, etc. He said that for patients where the scores come back funky, he recommends additional "classes" to help educate them that may take an additional 3 months to 1 year. Also, like Lissa said, there were a TON of questions about drugs and alcohol and he said, seriously, NOT interested in ancient history. You'll be fine!! Have fun! -
Dying to get outside - work in the yard, bike ride, walk...ahhhh. Praying for some sun and warm weather!

What a blessing! Good luck to you (both) LOL! -
You have been through and are continuing to go through very significant and life-altering situations. It sounds like it's time for you to really take care of you! Try the heart-to-heart. There's a reason you got together in the first place, but don't settle. If it's time to move on, then do it. There do seem to be a lot of posts about relationships here. I bet you can find a ton of support. Congrats on your weight loss (and your battle with cancer). You look so happy!

What a great NSV! Congrats to you. People at work are starting to notice how baggy my clothes are getting, it's such a compliment, but at the same time, so hard for me to accept/believe/process. I don't know the right word, but it's just not something I'm used to hearing! :-D

WoW. I think, sometimes my surgery was done in the Land of Oz. I'm 5 weeks out and not allowed to have anything that isn't completely blended and pureed to a smooth consistency. And I need to still be eating this way for another 3-4 weeks. Post op weeks 9-13 I'm allowed to add fish, cottage cheese, cheese and Beans. When I see posts about what people can eat at weeks 2, 3, 4, etc.; it sure makes me want to go against doctor's orders. I can honestly say that I'm sick of Protein drinks, and creamed Soups. But I remind myself that just like we are not here to compare our weight loss to each other to validate (or frustrate) ourselves, what we eat should also not be driven by what other people do or don't eat. Just be careful!

WELCOME! How lucky for you to find such a great forum to help with your journey. Yes, Dorrie has it right! That's a great (and do-able) place to start. Hope to hear more about how everything works out for you and your family. :-D

I understand. I don't know about you, but I have a long history of failure to compete with. Don't worry! We'll be fine!

Oh wow! Fantastic! You look amazing and your advice is spot on! I wish I had taken measurements.

Great ideas on this thread!! I like the Cooking Light, too!

Caffeine is acidic and can deteriorate the lining of your stomach. We do not have much of a stomach, let alone lining, left to deteriorate. As it was put to me, we need to protect our lining as much as possible.

Hard To Not Eat And Drink At The Same Time
NancyJerry replied to New1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been wondering about that. I'm still on very liquid-like foods so I haven't run into this type of problem yet. Good post. -
Lauren, you've lost 42 pounds and if your ticker is right, another 22 pounds since your surgery 27 days ago. You're doing great. Give yourself and your body some time. This is a lifelong journey, not a weekend holiday!

I didn't have any questions. I was on track and just grateful for the assurance that I was on track!

The pounds coming off feel great, don't they? You've done an excellent job. Just be careful about eating thing with "chunks" too early. You may feel great on the inside but you have a VERY long incision on the inside that needs time and soft foods, gliding by, to heal. IMO - this early on, it wouldn't take much for some small piece of food to get caught in that incision line and cause damage. Keep Rockin' that Sleeve!!

Cold All The Time Including My Nose!
NancyJerry replied to ssansoucie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OH YES!! Me too!! I've always been so very, very hot. Everyone around me in shorts and tee shirts and I'd be the one with sweat running down my back. Now I'm freezing all the time. We keep the house about 4-6 degrees hotter now than ever before and I'm still sleeping with my heated mattress pad on. I finally hit week 4 and just within the last few days, I almost feel a little more normal. But...we'll see! -
One Of My Best Days Ever...nsv
NancyJerry replied to baydawg's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm just starting to run into people I haven't seen in a while and getting "noticed." It's still kind of hard for me to BE noticed. I've spent a lot of time trying to fade into the background and not wear anything to draw attention, so now, when people say something my first reaction (in my head) is yeah, right. Then I think (louder in my head) YEAH! RIGHT!! :-D Good for you BayDawg!
