I'm one of those people that loved the coffee experience but didn't "require" coffee to be human. I gave it up the day I got approved for the surgery with no withdrawal issues. But I missed drinking it. I had my first taste of coffee about 4 weeks post op. My husband made it the same way I'd always drunk it, with a tsp of regular creamer and a dash of vanilla creamer. I couldn't stand it - it was soo very sweet. I didn't try it again until last week I got a small from Mc Donalds and where I would normally have put about 5 creamers in it (there's is quite strong), I asked for 2 creamers and it tasted pretty good. That is the last time, so far. The moral of my story is my coffee experience has definitely changed for me.

1 Week Post Op Troubles, Any Others?
NancyJerry replied to Janet53's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I take (the ONLY thing I've done against doctor's orders), VitaFusion Gummies. Serving size is 2 gummies, but I take them 3 times per day (6 total). And I supplement with B6, B12, Biotin, and Calcium. The B's and Biotin are very small tablets and easy to swallow. Every chewable Vitamin made me yak. -
It's only for a short time in your life and will be all worth it in the end. Hang in there!

Another 3 bites the dust. I'm only 1 pound from making my goal, which would put me at 181. So I'm going to add to my goal to pt myself in the 170's by Memorial Day. My new goal is to be at 179 which is 3 more pounds.

1 Week Post Op Troubles, Any Others?
NancyJerry replied to Janet53's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Today is my 6 week, post-op anniversary. I'm doing well. I'm happy with my weight loss, my energy is fairly decent. I had a terrible time finding Vitamins that I could stomach, but that is all set now. I feel quite "back to normal." I go out to restaurants and eat with my family. I make it through my work days and can bike 20-25 miles at a time (although I'm mourning some of that padding from my butt that came in handy on those rides). I hope you are feeling better. Be careful with those creamed Soups - even without chunks they may be very rich to tolerate. Keep us posted! -
The "infamous" Question, "so How Much Have You Lost?"
NancyJerry replied to former_vbg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I like your vent. I've been thinking the same thing lately. I try to be vague but some people are stubborn, right? I'm in the same boat where people have no idea that I had nearly 100 pounds to lose, but it still gets kinda tough. -
Sweet Spot In Clothes Buying..
NancyJerry replied to gmanbat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good for you. I had to do a little bit of shopping this weekend, too. Didn't want to get crazy, but needed a few things. Hard to believe how good good-fitting clothes can make you feel! -

Most Excited About...
NancyJerry replied to kellythestarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm most excited to be able to wear dress shoes and a dress (comfortably). My feet always hurt so much I've had to wear ugly shoes that my orthodics would fit into and my calves were so big and my ankles would swell so much I had "cankles." I've lost about 30 some pounds now and can see huge differences. I'm thinking in another 15 or 20 pound I may be able to comfortably wear a dress! Yea for you and your engagement ring. I've been there with my wedding ring and would usually not wear it all summer due to heat/swelling/water retention (oh, and FAT - LOL). It's awesome to be able to wear it no matter what now!! -
Wow! 8 pounds in a week - that's outstanding! I know what you mean about loving the sleeve and the forum. Not often in life do we get "do-overs" and to me, I feel like this is my do-over. I've learned so much from my doctors, their staff and this forum. I'm just plain excited. My sister and best friend are worried about being "left in the dust" so they've been inspired to seriously begin looking at what they are eating, quantities and nutrients. This new lease for me has spread to a new lease for them. I'm with you on the appreciation front!!

Nope. Can you check them out online? -
I was too, at that point. Give your body time to adjust and heal - it's been through A LOT in the past week. You'll feel stronger soon! Keep walking, drinking, getting your protein in. You've got this!

Good for you! That's just around the corner and will be here before you know it!

Better Than The Number On The Scale!
NancyJerry replied to NEW ME 2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good for you. I wish more people would remember that THOSE are the reasons that we did this!!! Not just that darn scale! Keep it up!! -
Wow! That's awesome!! Keep up the awesome work!

Yup. That's what I was thinking.

Praying for quick AND good news for you!

Could be a sign of dumping syndrome. Did it last long?

You have to define "one sitting." I've been eating the same stuff for all of these weeks, but for me it's the TIME it takes to eat. For instance, my 11oz Protein shake at 2 weeks would take me 40-50 minutes to consume, now (at 6 weeks) I can down one in about 20 minutes or so. Same thing with Soup. 2 and 3 weeks for a Campbell's Soup at Hand, I would have to re-warm about 3 times because it would take me nearly an hour to eat it, now I can get it down without re-heating it. So, I'm eating the same amounts, I've just gotten quicker at it. My "one sittings" are only 20-30 minutes instead of an hour.

Bariactric Humor (At Least I Thought It Was Funny).
NancyJerry replied to pdubbaya23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! That is so funny!! (And true). I believe humor exists everywhere in life, including church. Thanks for sharing and making me laugh out loud! :-D -
Crushing Your Meds?
NancyJerry replied to StevieSmithtown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask your doctor. I think this varies from person to person. I came home from the hospital with the tablet form of Vicodin and have been able to swallow whatever pills I need to (including some of my vitamins). Good luck! -
Congrats to you!!! It is an awesome feeling. Getting through each hurdle feels like another success!!
