www.myfitnesspal.com This a GREAT food and exercise diary! I really like that it predicts how much you will weigh in 5 weeks when you log your food for the day. What a motivator!

I left the forum while I was working on my National Board Certification, just found out I passed after 400+ hours outside the classroom worth of work! I am now ready to rededicate myself to my lapband while I work on more graduate work. I just started boot camp and counting calories, Protein, and fat this past week. I only lost 15lbs last year, but I must be honest in that I didn't try very hard and was discouraged since I've thrown up most of the time I've had the band. I also couldn't tolerate fills very well either. I've had tests but they could find no reason for the vomiting. I stated seeing an allergist this Fall and have learned that I have SEVER allergies which was causing heavy, thick mucus production while I slept. My allergist and I think this was the cause of the vomiting. I've started allergy shots, and many allergy drugs and have thrown up little since the first month in! I plan on heading back to Precision Surgery and getting started again in the right direction. I might even be able to tolerate a decent fill now too. I hope others who have been sick with their band will get allergy testing...I really think this has been the root of my problem. This is the first time since I've been banded that I feel "normal" again after surgery! I will keep you posted on how this new attempt at losing the rest of my weight goes. Let me know if you're out there!

I had an unfill too back on October and another semi tongue lashing from Dr. H., but it didn't bother me this time. I've let me exercise fall by the way side since starting my National Certification and I just can't fit it in. I do plan on hitting the gym in March when I have to turn everythin in. Gus is getting a Wii from Santa and I think Santa's getting me a Wii fit program and the women's fit program, so hopefully I can get up at 4:30 and do that before school until I can get back in the gym. Though I have to admit I weight about 20lbs less then when I was going to the gym, but I don't feel as energetic. I go back for a check up today since I was so tight last time. I want a teeny fill, but if I see Dr. K, she wammies me every time! Hopefully I won't have to go back for an unfill tomorrow.

Hey, I had my follow up MRI on Wednesday and it was the best possible news. It appears to just be a birth defect on my pituatary and nothing more. I have to do monitoring MRIs for 5 years and then I'm released. Now I can get focused on my band. I have a fill schuedled for Monday though I'm not sure I need one. I see really tight all of a sudden. I think I will still go since I haven't been back since February and have been distracted with the brain tumor thing. TP I will try to remember to post with you, though I'm super busy...I'll do my best... I've had one cup of hot tea today with 1tsp sugar. Will have 1 egg when/if my band permits for late breakfast!

It's gettin' might quiet around here! Hopefully no news is good news and we're all being very successful??? Getting a fill at the end of Oct. haven't had one since Feb. b/c my PCP found a pituatary (sp?) tumor and I had to drive back and forth to Little Rock to decided on brain surgery or not. Nothing life threatening, but might be the cause of being overweight. Right now I have another MRI scheduled for November 4th, if it doesn't change then I think I won't have to have surgery. Lap band wise, things are kind of holding, not losing but not gaining either. How's everyone else???

Hang in there Chellt, you're at the hardest part right now. That darn diet! Do exactly what your doc tells you and you'll be fine. Way to go HPM!

julie, I think people expect to lose more weight in the 1st year than they actually do and that is frustraiting. Most research says it take 5 years to get to where you want. I had a hard time during the first year too. I just celebrated my 2nd and am comfortable with how it's going. I took almost that whole year to figure out how my body and my mind reacts to the band. My only advice is, keep doing what the docs tell you to. If you aren't happy, keep seeing them until they get you to your sweet spot. I love my band.

I just realized that today was my bandaversary! I've lost about 15lbs more than my tickers says because I started losing before surgery, but I only count post surgery weight since that's what's on file at ps.

I lost myhair too and it never has grown back as thick. I had SUPER thick hair before surgery and now I have normal thick hair. Biotin helps and so does upping your protein. You can't really tell it's helping until about 2 months after starting it.

way to go Julie. I just bought the new boost protein...has 15g protein and isn't as big as slimfast. Tastes about the same as slimfast, for me, I like it better!
