Dropped Big Post Op, Gained 6 Back And Now No Change - All In 3 Weeks
rodswife replied to ddoherty18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am. I am following the diet religiously and walking the same distance as you and the scale keeps going up. I keep hearing it's water retention, muscle building, weight distributing etc but it's not comforting. I can tell in my clothes that I'm losing though. I was sleeved in 4/2 and have lost 22lbs but it said I gained 4 back. It makes me sad. -
Another Freaking Gain Grrrrrr
rodswife replied to rodswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll vary up just as soon as I get the clear from my doc. I'm only 2.5 weeks out so all I can do is walk right now. It's great advice though and will definitely be taken into consideration. I refuse to give up. -
Another Freaking Gain Grrrrrr
rodswife replied to rodswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definitely need to move it. I only weigh in the mornings but it is driving me nuts when I see it go up when I know I'm following the diet religiously. I go to my doc on Monday. Hopefully he doesn't tell at me. I'm down 17lbs. -
Another Freaking Gain Grrrrrr
rodswife replied to rodswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No I weighed first thing when I got up and after I peed. I am regular. I do retain a lot of water sometimes but don't feel so bloated today. I did walk 3 miles yesterday and have been walking a mile everyday so who knows. I can't wait to see that scale moving down. It just worries me that I'm failing. -
What Do You Tell The Nosey Peopke At Work?
rodswife replied to Gettinhealthy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just tell people the truth. I had weight loss surgery to better my health and lengthen my life. I don't care who knows or what they think. This is my life and I took control of it. -
Speaking Of Protein...
rodswife replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Egg whites are the purest form of protein. One egg white has 6 grams of protein. You can eat an egg white an hour and get all your protein in and it will not hurt you, slow your weight loss down or knock you off track. There's no carbs or fat or sugar in egg whites. -

Thank you seannie. I appreciate it. I'm gonna keep going because I refuse to fail.

Ow can I be 229 one day and almost 240 the next? I'm not close to my period, I don't eat junk or carbs, I drink all my protein shakes and eat protein. I feel very bad this morning. I see my clothes fitting better but now I'm worried that I'm gaining and not losing like I'm supposed to. I feel depressed.
-
I don't weigh myself daily. I usually go every other day but it's hard when you see that scale move up. I run after my 6 kids all day and I'm only 2 weeks out. I'm just very afraid of failure. I don't want to be fat the rest of my life. I hope you all are right. I feel very bad today.
-
Thanks ill try. It's just hard not to stress when you know you are doing everything right. I don't want to go to the doc next week and hear how I'm failing.

My hands feel swollen this morning yes but will that add 10lbs back on me? I feel very defeated almost like damn, I've been busting my tail to get the weight off and it's right back on and I've done nothing to cause that.

That's wonderful. Congrats. I know how proud you must feel. I'm very happy for you.

Concerns For A Newbie...
rodswife replied to caseydoodle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found that eating with a baby spoon and fork has slowed me down a lot and has also forced me to take smaller bites. -
I put on a pair of jeans today that we're tight a few weeks ago and they are loose. Wool hoo!!!! I have lost 22lbs since I was sleeved on 4/2/12 and a few shirts fit me now that I couldn't wear last month. Also, I can finally see the bones in my feet which I couldn't do for 3 years. I'm so happy. I have 103lbs to go til goal but this is a huge start.

That will be a day I will celebrate loudly. Lol

One Week Out Update And Questions
rodswife replied to WhoozisAnyway's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the unflavored protein and put it in soup. You can put it is anything you drink and make it protein. So far, so good. I get it from unjury. Unjury also has a chicken soup protein powder that's really good. -
I also eat throughout the day. I asked my dad, who is a doctor about this and he said that it is best to eat about 6 small meals a day as opposed to 3 large meals. It keeps your metabolism boosted and is healthier for you. As long as you are eating proteins, low fat, low carbs and stay away from the sugars you should be good to go.
