Had My 3 Week Post Op Appointment
rodswife replied to rodswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm getting about 800 calories in. I use the amplified wheybolic extreme 60 protein from GNC. I wake up and have a shake. It takes me about an hour to drink one, sometimes a little longer. After that, I drink a bottle of water. For lunch I'll have about 2oz of Tyson chicken in water or I'll make a few egg whites. I drink another bottle of water. Snack I'll have a babel cheese, more water or propel, dinner I'll have about 2ozmof tilapia and about a teaspoon of avocado. More water or propel. Snack another piece of cheese. I drink water til I go to bed. I also go to the gym every morning at 9:30 and walk about 2 miles every evening. Sometimes I drink another protein shake if I am hungry in the evenings but that is rare. -
Had My 3 Week Post Op Appointment
rodswife replied to rodswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you. Neither have I. He just said if I have too much, it will turn to carbs and my body will burn those as energy instead of my body fat. I plan to listen. He also wants me to eat all the time, every 3 or 4 hours to keep my metabolism up but said if I want to take a bite of protein every hour to go for it just make sure I stay between 60-80g -

Propel zero. It'd so refreshing. -
Today I had about 2oz of tilapia and a teaspoon of avocado and felt so full by the time I was done. It was a terrible feeling.

Hungry A Week And A Half Out
rodswife replied to LadyIvy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It happens to me and I am constantly taking bites of protein. I sometimes eat an egg white every hour just depends on the day. I try to eat 6 small meals. I'm 3 weeks out but I'm always taking a bite of protein here and there. It's not gonna hurt you. -
Spouses During The Hospital Stay
rodswife replied to feszyk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband was there during my surgery and when they brought me to my room but went home once I was settled. There was no point in him being there. I just wanted to rest at first and not be bothered by tv noise and talking. -
I was sleeved on April 2nd and I am having a very hard time getting the weight to come off. I know it has only been 3 weeks but still, I have only lost 17lbs and the scale keeps going up. I have pcos and I retain water. My dad (who is a doctor), told me to ask my surgeon about getting on metformin to help get this weight loss started. So I would say, go for it, It wont hurt you and can only benefit you.

I just got done talking to my dad about it. He's a doctor. He told me to ask my surgeon about putting me on a water pill every other day or so or metformin. Metformin he said is a good choice for people like us who have pcos. I feel you on the dieting alone. I'm not giving up. -

Trumpet, I am too. My scale keeps going up instead of down. I'm retaining water, I have pcos and the weight just will not come down. I'm very discouraged myself. -
Wtf Surgery Four Weeks Ago And Lost Absolutley Nothing Since Discharge
rodswife replied to louise aussie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm almost 3 weeks out. Lost 17 and now the scale says I gained 4 back. Not sure how that is even possible being that I'm following the doctors orders. I'm very discouraged myself and feel like a failure. -
Why is it that when people are excited and say how much weight they lost in a certain amount of time there is always someone that has to burst their balloon by saying, "enjoy it. It doesn't last long." Why do they have to ruin that persons high by pointing out the negative? It irritates me. Just be happy for your fellow sleeves and keep your negtive comments to yourself. Everyone knows that you don't continue to lose mass amounts of weight every week or month so you don't have to rain on their parade.

Stall Or Plateau Worries?
rodswife replied to Cobrargc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No you're not looking at it wrong. It makes a lot of sense. But you have people like myself who want to see quick results because I read about people losing quickly and have friends that lost quickly and I want that to be me. So im obsessive. I want so badly to not fail and it's very psychological to me. I wish I could be patient but I'm not Lolol. It's something I need to work on. -

All The Protein Shakes I've Tried Ao Far, Upset My Stomach
rodswife replied to LTARLTON's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I like the amplified wheybolic extreme 60. One 12 ounce shake with 3 scoops has 60g of protein, 7g of carbs and to me, the chocolate tastes like chocolate milk. One shake a day and I pretty much have all my protein in for the day. -
So I gained another freaking 2 ounces. Not even sure how that is possible since I'm following the diet religiously and walking everyday for an hour or longer while pushing 2 kids in a bulky stroller. It's really pissing me off. I can feel my clothes getting bigger but the dang scale keeps going up. What a pain. I don't want to get yelled at Monday at my first post op appointment for only losing 17lbs. I'm 2.5 weeks out.

How Much Protien At 16 Days Post Op?
rodswife replied to jiggyjen1982@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd you want to get your Protein in eating, try egg whites. 1 egg white has 6g protein and you can eat an egg white an hour. It won't hurt you nor will it slow you down or stretch your sleeve. It's the purest form of protein you can get and there are no carbs or fat. -
Lilee I think you did a great job. It may take you awhile to eat it but you did it. Way to go

Wine And Whine Wednesday!
rodswife replied to Lilee84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say that I am very blessed to have such a supportive husband. He only praises me instead of bringing me down. He is also military. He is in the army and has a beautiful body and can eat anything he wants. My only beef with him is that he eats so damn loudly and I can't stand to hear him eating stuff I can't. Lolol some days I just want to take his food away. Other than that, he is the best husband in the world.
