Grrrrr Come On Already

I'll be 5 weeks post op on Monday. I am losing way more inches than weight (23lbs to date) but I'm so dang frustrated. I went to try on some old clothes after my shower and they are still way too tight. They were a size 22-24 pair of jeans. I had to put my size 26-28 pair of pants back on and they fit comfortably. I know what everyone is going to say but it doesn't make me feel any better knowing that my progress is slow as hell despite my efforts to work out 5 days a week and follow the diet religiously. I'm ready to see bigger changes and have it be more noticeable to those around me. I want to cry.

I hope that happens for me. I'm praying on it actually. -

I haven't gone down any clothing size though. -
One to two oz is all I can handle and that even depends on what I am eating. I had 2oz of Tina earlier and felt like I ate an entire thanksgiving meal.

My mom used to say oofa when we wanted something and she said no and we kept begging her. Lol her saying that was kinda the end all be all of I said no. Lol

Try a sugar free Popsicle. It's not a cure but it's something in your mouth. I feel your pain. I have 6 kids and a husband that are constantly eating. I didn't cook for the first 2 weeks After surgery and had to stay in another room. Not practical when you have small children but my husband was home with me for 2 weeks. Now at almost 5 weeks out, it's much easier because I've had time to make peace with it. In the end, I'm going to look fabulous. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Thought a pound of muscle weighed the same as a pound of fat. They just have different densities and therefore fat takes up more space than muscle. So if you are working out and building muscle and losing fat, you will not gain more weight but merely look leaner. Saying muscle weighs more than fat is inaccurate. I keep going up and down in my weight and am a very slow loser myself. A lady that I know that had surgery the same day I did has lost a whole 12lbs more than I have and we work out together daily and do pretty much the same thing. Everyone's metabolism is just different. She is 28 years old, I'm about to be 40. That makes a huge difference in how things work. I say don't stress it too much. It is discouraging at times and I know how badly you want to see results but just think about it. In a few months time when you are down say 60lbs, your skin will look so much nicer because you took the time to allow it to shrink back in place naturally. Plus statistics report that people who lose slower tend to keep it off. Embrace your journey no matter how long it takes you o get there. Slow and steady wins the race.

I take pictures every Sunday and have since the day before my surgery. This Monday I will be 5 weeks post op. I can't tell when I look in the mirror that I lost 23lbs but I can tell in my clothes and in my pictures. I just started taking measurements last saturday so I'll take measurements every saturday.

Amen to that. I had to take out all my piercings too. As soon as I woke up, I put them all back in. Lol

I was given a list of things when I registered a few days before my surgery.

Nail polish is also a fire hazard and you don't want to catch fire on the operating table. We were not allowed to use conditioner or deodarant the night before or day of as a fire precaution as well.
