Crushing Your Meds?
rodswife replied to StevieSmithtown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never crushed any of my meds. I didn't have trouble swallowing them. I say ask your Doctor to see if it's ok for you to try and swallow now. -

Surgery was 4/2 and I've lost 25lbs so far. I'm working out about an hour a day but starting this week, 3 days a week will be a 2 hour workout because I'm starting water aerobics as well. I'm very happy with myself. I've been working hard. -

Are You Buying Sexy Clothes Now?
rodswife replied to Queen of Crop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not me yet. I've lost 23lbs but I haven't dropped a sufficient amount that I can drop sizes yet. It's frustrating but I'm only 5 weeks out and know I'll get there eventually. -
I Can Drink A Lot More Than 4 Oz.
rodswife replied to pinkiguana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are comfortable, don't worry about it. I can drink a lot. Water is very dense so it goes through your sleeve easier. -
You're welcome. Congrats. You will do well. Just have faith in yourself.
-
I usually drink half in the morning after my workout and then the other half in the evening if I don't get in all my Protein through eating. I just put it in the fridge and let it get real cold for the evening. Or I drink the rest as a snack.
-
Also you can mix 1.5 scoops at a time. You just have to cut down the liquid to 6oz instead of 12oz. I do the whole 12oz because it also counts as 12oz of liquids that you need to drink.
-
The three scoops make up the 60g of protein. If you have the GNC card, you can get a canister for about $45 and it lasts over a month. I believe you can mix it with milk. I never have because dairy slows my progress down.
-
I get my protein in in one shake a day. I bought amplified wheybolic extreme 60. I get the chocolate and to me it tastes like chocolate milk even mixed with water. I get it at GNC and it has 60g of protein in it. My motivation for getting it all in is my constant fear of losing my hair. Lolol that is always on the forefront of my mind. I don't have much of an appetite but I eat to keep my metabolism running higher.

I was released from the hospital on protein.

Guilty Feeling Never Ends!

I use amplified wheybolic extreme 60. For chicken, I put it in a baking dish and poor a little Low sodium college inn chicken broth over it, season it with garlic salt and put a piece of lemon slice over each piece. Cover with aluminum foil, poke a few breathe holes and bake til done. I use boneless, skinless chicken and it comes out pretty moist and has a hint of lemon to it. Tuna I just eat straight from the can or I cut some egg whites into it and mix it with light mayo and mustard and eat that way. -

No you have to mix the shake yourself in 12oz of Water. I prefer the chocolate. It tastes like chocolate milk especially when really cold. I put ice cubes in mine. I do eat meat by itself and it's not dry if you season it correctly. Sometimes with my chicken and tuna I add a little fat free mayo and mustard. Fish I use lemon. Yum. You can get pork rinds in the chip section of any store. I get the BBQ ones. I guess they could raise your cholesterol if you eat an enormous amount but I eat 1/2oz if that and it has 4.5g fat if which only 1.5 is saturated, no carbs, 15mg cholesterol, and 8g Protein. I don't eat a lot or every day but once in awhile. I rarely go over my allotted limits especially using myfitnesspal. -

I would seriously be careful. You could get a leak at only 10 days out. -
Ambly, I am also at Fort Bliss

I know how you feel. 2 weeks after my surgery, my husband left for a month for wlc. Once he gets back, he will be back for a few weeks and will have to leave again for a few more months for Bnoc and then he deploys to Afghanistan. You are not alone. I'm here if you ever need a shoulder. I can completely relate to what you are going through.

Guilty Feeling Never Ends!
rodswife replied to Jill279's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since my surgery almost 5 weeks ago, eating and drinking consume a majority of my thoughts as well but I dont feel guilty, I just worry a lot. I worry about eating enough so that my body isnt in starvation mode so I can lose weight. I worry that I am drinking enough water so that water gets flushed out of my body. The only thing I really dont worry about is getting in enough protein because I seem to get all that in. This is a huge emotional roller coaster ride for me but I try to live it one day at a time. Don't feel guilty. Every day you get stronger and stronger and you will have no problem reaching your goals. -
