Primary Care Dr. Supportive?
Squisha replied to Laceyloveland's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually had a pcp and obgyn suggest wls. But the insurance i had at the time wouldn't cover it. I started seeing a new pcp in October and had already been to an info secession with the doctor that did my surgery. So during my initial visit i told her i was looking into the surgery and would need approval. She asked me some question and had a few more at my next appointment but that was it. I recently saw another doctor in the practice and she stayed in with me for 30min asking all about my surgery and who performed it. I was the 1st patient wls she had seen and she was amazed by the weight i had lost after only 10 weeks. -

Thirsty Anyone?
Squisha replied to Imperfectlyperfect's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
only thing to come close to quinching my thirst in the beginning was sugar free popsicles. -
My Doctor said there is no such thing as too much water after surgery. I was told because of the temps being at or over 100 he wanted me to concenterate on water more than protein if i had to to prevent dehydration.

What Did You Tell Your Kids?
Squisha replied to CBT's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My daughter is a quite a bit older, shes 12. I told her i was hiving the surgery to lose weight and get healthy. I told her the Dr was gonna put 7 small holes in my stomach and 1 large hole and that when i came home i was probably gonna be tired, sore and cranky. I let her ask any questions she had. I left it up to her if she wanted to see me in the hospital. She did come up to see me and thinks it's funny that i don't remember because of all the pain meds. But she was a great little nurse when i got home. lol she even helped her dad cook dinner the 1st week or so after i got home. -

What Is The Good, Bad And Ugly?
Squisha replied to UTGal99's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have no Ugly and very little bad. I was completely off pain meds 1 week after surgery. The worst part for me is I can't drink milk any more (and I love milk), but am enjoying Soy milk. I had surgery in March and a normal dinner for me is usually about 1.5 oz of chicken 2 or 3 bites of a vegtable and maybe 1 or 2 bites of a pasta or potato. -
Any Regrets?
Squisha replied to lizzybean3377@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved in March, and so far no regrets, i was scared leading up to my surgery date but I think that is normal. I have had no complications and think this is the best thing i have ever done. -
I know for me, every time i have stalled or slowed down that I am losing inches, i have had a 3 week stall only lost 1 pound but i dropped 2 pant sizes.

I have a recipe for meatballs with cheese in the center somewhere. They were called Volcano meatballs and my husband daughter and I all love them. Pre surgery we loved to make meatball subs with them.

People Sleeved Around 03/22
Squisha replied to bethany1987's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved March 21, down 49lbs since surgery, 70lbs including pre op diet. -
The 1st 2 weeks i weighed myself everyday. But week 3 i hit a stall and would gain a few pounds and lose a few pounds and then at the end of the week i was exactly the same weight as the week before. I now try really hard to weigh my self only once a week. That way i really notice the pounds i am losing.

Intolerance Vs. Dumping?
Squisha replied to tinfoil_heroine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have that problem now with some milk products. I had surgery in March and if i drink milk i have to run to the bathroom in where from 30 min to an hour. I had problems with cottage cheese in the beginning but am ok with it now for the most part. I still can't do milk i keep trying it but no luck yet. I have started using Soy milk instead. Never had any problem with any cheeses. -
i had a catherer it came out the morning after surgery
