6months out and it still happens to me, espically when i eat out, i order something small and then wander if i should order something else just in case. I always go home with a box. It is much easier to eat at home.

Squisha replied to bubles089's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to wait at least 6 weeks to do anything more than walking. But if you are gonna do the elepictical i would just cut it back to maybe 10 min and add 2 min every few day to build up slowly. -

P.a. & Surgeon Against Me Getting The Sleeve
Squisha replied to TamaraS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor doesn't recommend the lap bad with a BMI of over 35, but says at a BMI of 54 i was a good canidate for either the sleeve or the by pass. I didn't want a bypass because of the malabsorbstion issues. at 6months I am down from 407 to 311, and couldn't be happier about my choice. -
It is not that bad, The nurses were prepard, had me stand up, positioned me in front of the machine. As the doctor walked into the room they had me drink the horrible liquid, 1 stood nearby with a bucket just in case. Doctor told me all was good and then it was done. It was gross and i hated it but it was done and i was back in my room in less than 5 minutes.

Can You Eat Out After This Type Of Surgery?
Squisha replied to Joy1961's topic in Food and Nutrition
I still eat out, Usually at least once a week with friends or family. I can find something to eat on just about every menu ( i usually look at the kids menu but at most places everything on the kids menu if fried or pasta). I always come home with a lot of leftovers. Only thing i miss is going out for drinks, but my surgeon recommends no alcohol for 1 year. -
I was on the fence for a while, i knew i didn't want the RNY but had never heard of the sleeve when I started this process. My doctor doesn't recommend the band if you are morbidly obese because the weight loss is slower and less. Also after the 1st 4 weeks the risk of complication drops for the sleeve, for the bad there is always a risk of complications, if you search this site there are a LOT of banders that switch to the sleeve because of complications.

i premade a few dinners and put them in the freezer, they just had to be put in the oven to cook. And since my husband isn't very good in the cooking department i made sure the freezer was stocked with things like chicken nuggets, and that i had lots of canned chicken and tuna. By about 2 weeks out i was usually able to cook dinner, and would put what they ate in my bullet.

I am 6months out eating between 800 and 1000 calories per day, averaging about 10lbs a month.

I would stop by the cafteria when they are slow, if you explain your dietary needs they should be able to tell you what is available. That and they make food in the back for all kinds of special diets. they may be able to offer something that you don't see.

Anyone Else In The 350+ Pre-Op Weight Range?
Squisha replied to Chicago1962's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I started at 407, lost 21lbs before surgery, and on surgery day was 386. I will be 6 months on the 21 September and i am at 314 now. I am really hoping to lose 7lbs to take me over to 100. and then i can't wait to get to 299!! Just 15lbs away, so exciting -
What about a curves or something similar that is women only. I joined the rec center where i am, it is cheap and i go during the day and there is never more than 2 or 3 other people there. I also did the YMCA (just can't afford it right now) and was always super friendly people there, and alot of them are there trying to lose weight, never felt judged.
