Can you lose too fast?
Squisha replied to Groovinchikin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at 407 and in the first few weeks I was losing almost 4lbs a day, and then at 3weeks I stalled for 3 weeks. After that I slowed down to about 10-15lbs a month -
I was cloed with glue on the outside and was told as soon as all the glue was gone I could take a bath

Clothes not fitting :-(
Squisha replied to haleyj134's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost a lot of weight the first 3 weeks then I stalled for 3 weeks and lost 3 or 4 sizes at once. I still go through phases where if i am not losing pounds I will drop a size or will lose consistantly for a month or 2 and not change sizes at all. -
Most important preop question of all...
Squisha replied to orthoman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 8.5 months out. I am down 113lbs and would have surgery again in a heartbeat. But no i didn't wake up from surgery feeling like a different person. I still love food, but I am happier and satisified with a lot less. When I am out and watch others eat I can't believe I used to eat that much an more. I think the way I eat now is more normal than the way I ate before. -
Did you start your vitamins immediately post-op?
Squisha replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Squisha replied to Beckyyb93's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Squisha replied to ShrinkingMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was taking naps for about the first month. Now if I start feeling run down I know to check my water, protein or that I am remembering all my vitamins. -

Did you have trouble laying flat after surgery?
Squisha replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me about a week till I was able to sleep in my bed. I slept sitting up on my couch, and know a few people who slept in recliners. It took another week till i was able to go back to sleeping on my side. -

What if it doesn't work?
Squisha replied to AceyKay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank You, I am only 1/2 way there. I also went back and forth, but I am hoping to start trying to have a baby next September. For me that was my main reason i decided that i thought it would be better with the sleeve than by pass because of the malabsorbition. -
What if it doesn't work?
Squisha replied to AceyKay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have to believe it will work. There are lots of stall along the way, but I have noticed after a week or 2 stall I will drop a clothing size. Follow your doctors eating plan, don't start solids too soon and you will do fine. I am 9 months out, down 111 lbs and still losing. You can do this! -
yummy ... sugar free crystal light slurpees
Squisha replied to missT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a few over the summer they were so yummy, but having a hard time finding a good flavor, most of the 7-11's in my area have mango and i don't like anything mango flavored. -
not losing very fast!input please!
Squisha replied to jenjen82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You will hit lots of stall along the way. Also the less you have to lose over all the slower it will come off. 20lbs in just under a month is great. -
I have used flat out, it's a rectangle bread sold near the pitas. I cut 1 into fourths for myself, half for hubby and daughter. I add spaghetti sauce, low fat mozzarella and what ever toppings i am in the mood for. i like to cook it on my griddle pan. Spay pan with pam, place bread in pan for a few min to heat, flip and add sauce cheese and toppings. I have had real pizza a few times since surgery and am satisfied with 1 slice instead of 3 or 4.

Post-Surgery Hormonal Changes?
Squisha replied to Babysteppin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your fat cells store Estrogen. As your fat cells shrink they dump all that excess estrogen into your blood stream. -
I tried sugar free ice cream but i didn't like the texture. I have found frozen greek yogurt by healthy choice, and it's in preportioned containers.

My periods are finally regular since surgery. But I had just stopped right before surgery and then started again 2 or 3 days after surgery. The doctor said it was probably form the blood thinners.

How Is "goal Weight" Determined?
Squisha replied to HoosierGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doctor asked me what weight i wanted to get to, i told him 199 and he told me that was a good place to start. Once I hit 199 I will decide where I want my final number to be. I am 6ft tall and started out at 407 so for me to get to 199 is still over a 200lb loss. -

Your Life 1, 3, 6, And 12 Months Out?
Squisha replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery March 21 of this year, Easter was hard, I was still on purees, I had egg salad and mashed potatoes. Thanksgiving was much better, I enjoyed turkey, a bite of a deviled egg, and I made sweet potato casserole with splenda and sugar free brown sugar. I also made pumpkin pie with splenda and had a small sliver. It was the first thanksgiving I remember eating just till i was full, not till i felt like i was gonna pop. I was ready to get up and moving, playing cards or games right after dinner, everyone else was tires sleepy and stuffed. So I still got to enjoy all my favorites and never felt deprived.
