"I sure hope you know what your getting yourself into" in response to getting the gastric sleeve done.(this person does not have the sleeve done) Really? Are you kidding me? Like I havent read every little peice of information and watched every youtube video til all hours of the night for MONTHS!? This is not a decision that you take lightly and it frustrates me when this person says this. (more than once) I just needed to vent to people who I know will understand

So Tired Of Hearing...
ChristineS NY replied to ChristineS NY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did respond with something very similar! It just irks me to no end! It makes me feel like I have to defend myself, this is one reason why I chose not to tell a lot of people before hand. I stress myself out enough without the help of other's lol. Afterwards when I am comfortable I plan to share my experience with any and all who ask. Thanks for the advice -

Letter From Primary Doctor
ChristineS NY replied to Odee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeons office gave me a template also to give to my PCP. You might want to ask them if they have oneso that nothing gets left out of the letter from your PCP. Ive heard of that happening to someone and it delayed the process. -

Vacationing With Family Who Doesn't Know
ChristineS NY replied to carr1015's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We definitely should! I will probably just tell them that I am on a strict diet and eat the protein first like Liberated Sleeve and Kat said while at the family reunion. I also wouldn't post pone my surgery for their sake unless there was a health risk. This forum is a great place to come to with any and all concerns no matter what they are without judgment, I love it! -
Vacationing With Family Who Doesn't Know
ChristineS NY replied to carr1015's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to the forum! My surgery date is also July 2nd We also share a similar situation, my husbands family is having a family reunion in August and they don't know about my surgery either. I have the same concerns as you about eating while with them. I know eventually they will know about my surgery, I'm just not ready to share the info now. -

H-Pylori Test Requirement Has Me Ready To Scream
ChristineS NY replied to MinaT's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds very frustrating to say the least! Just breathe and take one step at a time. My surgeon and nutritionist told me in the very beginnning that I would be tested for HP and showed me what it looked like if someone had it. Its important that they know because it could interfere with healing afterward. My surgeon told me that HP is one of the things he will be looking for during my endoscopy tomorrow morning. If I have it, he said it's 2 weeks of antibiotics and 2 weeks after they test again to make sure the antibiotics took care of it. I've noticed a lot of people never had this test prior to being sleeved, perhaps it's a newer criteria? I hope you can get everything taken care of and your test for HP comes back negative, I understand your frustration, June 4th isn't too far away. -
