They have to pump gas in the body to have room to work. It will go away. I had it in my shoulder but it definitely leaves.

Went for my two week check up and down 13 lbs. Have my first fill on the 14th. I only have total of 40 lbs to lose total so it is not easy. Doctor was very pleased.

My list is simple....I just want to be able to shop at JCrew again. -
Probably not the right thread, but this week, someone posted a recipe for beans that you put in the oven for a snack. Accidentally threw away the stickie I had written on. Does anybody remember seeing that recipe??? Thank you.

I had surgery last Thursday, May 24th. No pain, no soreness now, but I cannot sleep at all and my legs are killing me. I totally believe it is from carb/sugar withdrawal as I was eating probably close to 3,000 calories with most of it being cupcakes and junk. I am not hungry and managing fine on my shakes, but this sleep deprivation and leg aching is driving me nuts. Has anybody else really had "withdrawal" symptoms. I have never smoked or used any substances, but I would liken this to smoking withdrawal, etc. Thinking about calling my surgeon to see if he can give me something to take the edge off as I must rest..

HELP: Can someone tell me how to put my goal weight and weight lost in my ticker. I finally got the ticker to show up, but only shows beginning weight. Many thanks!

I was banded May 24th and feel great. Soreness gone, but still a little weak. I think the weakness is partly due to my addiction to sugar. Hopefully, that will wear off. I am down about 8 lbs. That feels sooooo good.

To me, sugar is as addictive as alcohol and drugs. I can totally lay off sugar rather than tell myself I will only eat one or two mouthfuls. If I can't have three cupcakes, i don't want any. I feel so much better mentally since I am not eating them. I finally feel in control of myself. I truly understand how people feel in trying to kick the habit.

Would love to start a group for us that are starting over. Had to have lapband disconnected and now reconnected. I do not know how to set it up, but would love to participate.

Carbonated drinks/alcoholic beverages
Golfbooboo replied to culverhouse5's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
One of my favorite beverages is Diet V-8 Splash. It is sooo good and has lots of vitamins. 10 calories per 8 oz. -
I had my banding on the 24th of May. Doing so well. Very little discomfort. More sore, but no pain. I am down about eight lbs. I have to lose about 45 lbs altogether. I had a band placed last May, exactly a year ago, but due to complications, had to have it disconnected in September. My mind is set to get this excess weight off as I want so much to get back in my clothes. I have hung my favorite jeans so I see them when I walk in my closet. My goal is 20 lbs by August. Is that realistic???

I am also a "rebander". I had my band surgery last May 2012. All was going well, but I we bought a place in FL in July and I went there. While there I needed a fill and found a doctor that would do a fill with a band placed by another doctor. OMG, he over filled it big time. I got extremely ill and had to have emergency surgery to have it totally disconnected as it was literally cutting my stomach in half. Do NOT go to another doctor except the one that does your surgery. I cannot emphasize this enough. I was in Florida by myself and almost died. You know when you go to an emergency room and they don't ask for anything but start working on you immediately, you are pretty bad. My regular lapband doctor is reconnecting bad this coming Thursday. My eating is so totally out of control and I really want to get back to "normal". I am committed and am going to do my best. Anybody that eats way to much knows the struggles and challenges faced everyday. I know this is not magic, but only a tool. Good luck to you all.
