Hi all... I was really struggling with the water, just like most of us, but I've really come to enjoy my tea and hot water. Since I'm cold all the time it was really hard to drink cold water, but hot water goes down real easy and warms me up. I guess 85 lbs of insulation was really keeping me warm 'cause for the first time in my life I am COLD...alll the time. Even before I gained all the weight I was "warm blooded", but now I freezing. People tell me I will acclimate...I hope it happens soon! Brrrrrrrrrr!

DH came home early yesterday, not feeling well, so the B-day dinner will have to be next week. Just as well, tummy is still edgy and I've got a headache, maybe I'll get lucky and this is all I'll get. I've had alot more resistance to all the "bugs" my kids have brought home, haven't been sick much since banding. Eating right and vitamins sure seem to help!

Weazer... Thanks for the B-day greetings. It definitely was a quiet one. I can't tell if I'm getting a real light case of this bug, or if it's just slow in coming. My tummy's slightly on edge, and I have a headache, hopefully that will be all. I have found that most of the bugs my family has brought home have mostly passed me by. I'm eating more healthy and taking vitamins, so maybe I'm fighting them off better than before...I used to get everything my kids brought home. Manatee... You're doing great! To loose anything this time of year is a HUGE accomplishment. I've been playing with the same pound all week...but will all the parties & such I'm just glad not to be going up! Sounds like you've got a great feel as to where your "sweet spot" is, that's great!

Anybody out there had the stomach flu yet? Both my kids have come down with it and I'm a little nervous 'cause my tummy just did a little twist. I've PB's but not the real gut busting stuff, and this bug starts out pretty violent (complete digestive purge...if ya know what I mean). My DH want to take my out tonight (my B-day today), but I'm a little nervous about a big meal, thinking it might be smarter to play it safe with liquids.

Weazer... I can relate. My tummy jsut did a flip and my 2nd child was home from school today. My son spent the weekend the a tummy bug, now my daughter is down. It's my B-day today and DH wants to take me out for a nice dinner. I'm a little worried that I'm going to be getting sick right in the middle of dinner! Has anybody had the stomach flu yet? This bug starts out pretty violent (purging from every-which-way...if you get my drift). I've PB'ed, but not the real gut twisting stuff...yikes!

Manatee... Remember if you're lifting alot and building muscle you're probably toning and loosing fat while you gain muscle. The scale won't change (might even go up), but that doesn't mean you're not loosing. Are you eating enough? I plateau when I go to low in calories. Make sure you're changing you claories, some times more, sometimes less...keep your body guessing. That seems to work the best for me. You are really close to goal, I'm sure it gets harder for everyone the closer we get...hang in there! Sue

Laura... I really like using FitDay.com, it's helped me learn alot about the food I eat. I eat about 1000 calories/day and I think about 90 Carbs. I try to keep my "Pie" balanced, 1/3 of my calories from each, protien, carb and fats. I also try tp keep the bulk of my carbs at lunch, so there's time in the day to burn them off (my theory anyway). This seems to work real well for me. I put in all my foods for the day then reward mtself with a healthy treat in the evening if I've stayed in line. My weight loss has been fairly consistant, and I stay at about 10#'s a month. It feels slow at times, but I know that's right where I want to be. Sue

NSV... I was making a purchase at the fabric store and the cashier looked at the picture on my credit card (it's a small little picture, less than 1") she looked at the picture and me several times then said "you need to get a new picture on your card, that doesn't look at all like you, you've lost a lot." You did great to come back down a pound! Support group meets on the 17th (3rd Monday only) I'd really like to get something informal going on that 1st Monday, maybe a Walk night or a Soup night. Ragdoll... ONEDERLAND...that's so fantastic! It's a landmark never to be crossed again!!! PS...way to stick up for your kid...sometimes we have to be a "mama bear" to get our kids what they need. My kids call it "puttn' on the big bad mama boots" LOL Sue

I can't say I don't get hungry, but certainly not like before. get hungry after about 4 hours, but it's not the incredible grumbling (LOUD!) that I had before my 3rd fill. It seems when I hit 3.0cc my band really started to do it's job, there was alot of "white knuckling" before that...glad that's in the past. The holidays would have been diasterous with the kind of hunger I had before, I know I would have failed...I love my band Sue

Mer... Doesn't sound like you need a fill at all, good grief girl, you've got to eat! I enjoyed Thanksgiving too, though I have to say I think I tasted everything. I did drop a couple pounds, which helps me believe that I can make it through Christmas (and my Birthday, New Years and a Cruise...Yikes!) Glad to hear Rachel is doing well, look forward to hearing from her! WE NEED TO WALK!!! Sue

I have 3.3cc in my 4cc band and it really seems to be a sweet spot for me. I can eat good healthy food, and get full with about 1 - 1.5 cups of food. It helps me keep my calories at about 1100, which seems to be my special number. If I eat less I plateau. Early in the day I have to be very careful, eat slow. I've PB'ed a few times, but it seems to be getting better. Weazer... The fact that he's stepping up says something about his character. Keep the wedding simple, there is something particularly romantic about a simple weeding! God's blessings on you all!!! Sue

    Reviews of protein powders?

I use Champion Nutrition Whey. the chocolate is heavenly, but the vanilla is yuck, I use the Labrada Pro V60 Vanilla Ice Cream for smothies base...yum. I also like Nectar's Lemon, it's great with blended berries. I looked into unjury, but it seemed a little pricey to me. Looks like about $25 for 17 serving vs $20 for 31 servings for Champion. Price is definitely not the deciding factor, try lots of different brands to find one that tastes good to you. It's propoer nutrition that is the primary goal.
  22. I had a fill 2 weeks ago, I'm at 3.3cc, and I think this is a good place for me. I have to be careful, I will PB when I get careless. But taking care about what I eat is the goal. I can eat good healthy food, I feel full on smaller amounts, and stay full for 3-4 hours. I would say that is a product living up to expectations I was 6 months out on Saturday, and I've lost 80 lbs, I am a happy bandster!

Manatee... I've found Fitday to be a great tool, helps me know when I'm starting to slide up or down on calories. Get back in there, back to band basics and you will continue your sucess. Liquid calories are killer, and the solids are so much more satisfying. Sue

RiahG... Get Busy...don't give yourself too much time to think. Remember, the first couple days are the hardest, and it does get better. Find things to do to keep your mind occupied! I know it's not easy, but you'll do great!

Me again...6 months today. Had a great NSV today. My sister-in-law called me today to ask if she could come work out with me some time. She's been doing Weight-watchers...forever, and surprise surprise she is gaining the weight back. She was sitting next to me at Thankgiving, and commented that she was surprised that I could eat everything served, and I'm still loosing weight. She says I'm looking so "fit" that I must be doing something more than just loosing weight. She's going to come down to lift weights with me some time. I really feel like even a moderate amount of weights makes such a difference in toning and boosting metabolism. Sure helps the motivation to have someone notice, especiallywhen they say you're looking "fit", not just smaller. Oh, and on the scale...I was hoping not to gain over Thanksgiving, and I LOST a pound. Gives me hope that I can get through the next 6 weeks that include my birthday, christmas and a cruise. Sue
