I was recently banded on May 30 and also had a hiatal hernia corrected. I was a self pay for my band but now am finding out my insurance won't even pay for the hernia. Anyone else experience this or know why this is? I understand not paying for the band but not the hernia.

No apparantly it was not included in the cost of the band, which I did not realize until I got the bill.

Activities After Lapband Surgery?
gman614 replied to TornadoKnight Matt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Matt, I was banded on May 30 and actually mowed my grass about 10 days later. I felt pretty good and had been walking quite a bit before. I have a fairly small flat yard I took my time when cutting it and didn't try and do too much. It didn't help that I had just purchased a new mower a week before my surgery and wanted to use it again. As far as exercise is concerned I was told by my Dr to just stick with walking until my follow up visit a month after surgery. I'm almost at my third week and feel as if I could do much more exercising but figured I could wait one more week. Good luck with your journey. -
Hi everyone my name is Gregg and I was justed banded on Wednesday 5/30. Everything went well, however I was in a considerable amount of pain until today. Still hurting but not as bad and am not sure if it was linked to the hernia the Dr also corrected. I am curious how sleeping was for everyone, it has not gone well with me and so far the best sleep I have gotten was in my recliner. I really want to get back in my bed and also want to get off this pain medication. Am I getting ahead of myself on this or was this common for some of you. I'm still on all the clear liquids and have had no desire for anything else so far.

Problem With Protein Shakes
gman614 replied to Scooby_Who's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am being banded on May 30 and also have the Bariactric Advantage shakes. I agree they are not the best but what I have found is that if you blend it with ice, water, and some fruit it does taste much better, at least for me. My doctor gave me a list of some different recipes that are the way I just described. I decided to just suck it up since I bought two bags of the stuff. I have almost finished day four of pre op liquid diet and has been up and down. Seems to be getting better, and certainly hope it continues to. Good Luck to all.
