Hi! I'm scheduled for surgery on Sept 24. My doctor has brought up the possibility of having to place a G Tube for me. Did anyone have a G tube after surgery?

I’m sorry! This sounds like a absolute mess. I’ve had bad luck with BCBSTX as well, but finally got approved.

Did anyone go through Journeylite to have their RNY? Mine will be at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati.

I'm curious, did anyone have to self pay for their band removal to have insurance cover bypass? My insurance denied me based on the fact my band had no technical failure. The surgeon I was seeing did a peer to peer, which was denied as well. I reached out to a new surgeon! His insurance coordinator suggested I go self pay for the band removal, then ask the insurance to cover bypass. My surgical policy states, repeat surgery will not be covered if patient was non compliant with first surgery. I have over 100 pages of fill documents that span over 6 years. I'm just curious if anyone else has had to go this route?

I had to self pay for the band removal, it was 3500. I had it done on May 10th. they resubmitted back to my insurance company and on June 11th I got a approval for RNY!

I am at my wits ends. My pre determination of benefits were denied. My doctor did a peer to peer review this morning and it was denied. I filed an appeal as soon as I got the denial call. The reason I was denied was because my current EGD shows no sign of erosion, slippage, or reflux. I wrote a pretty lengthy letter and faxed to the insurance company. The letter detailed all the issues I have had with my band over the last two years. I have had horrible reflux and port pain. I faxed over 132 pages. Yes I know that’s a lot. Has anyone had to appeal?

Hi! Did anyone use Journeylite Cinci for your RNY? I would love to hear from you!

Went well! Band removal on the 10th!

Mine is 04/19 as well! I will be consulting with Dr Curry for removal of my band! I have to be self pay in order to remove the band, then I will comeback for consultation for bypass!
-
Never heard back from them! So I'm taking a different approach! I'm going to pay out of pocket for my band removal.
-
Hi! I was originally denied through my insurance for a revision. However I think I have found the best way to do RNY. I will have to be self pay to remove my band, then start the consultation for RNY! My policy states that a repeat surgery will be paid for if patient was compliant with first surgery! Has anyone had a similar situation to this?

So, I know that I keep posting about this but I'm desperate to find someone who has used Lindstrom. I was denied by insurance company with a peer to peer. My doctor only does peer to peers, and not appeals. So now I am stuck doing it. I contacted Kelley Friday and spoke with her. She made me incredibly hopeful. The basis for my denial was there was no mechanical failure of the band. Kelley suggested I see a Gastroenterologist. I made the appointment as soon as she suggested it. Went today for a consultation and barium swallow. My barium swallow showed reflux, which I knew I had. However it showed that the bad was positioned correctly. Has anyone else been in this situation.

So now I’m on my on with an appeal. They wouldn’t even help me with the appeal. I’ve talked with Lindstorm Obesity Advocacy.

Got the dreaded phone call today, my pre determination was denied. I have BCBS of TX. When told the reason for the denial there were a lot of doctor notes missing. They needed notes explaining how my band has failed. My doctor is doing a peer to peer review tomorrow. I feel completely hopeless and helpless. Has anyone had success with this?
