Need breakfast ideas - what are you eating for bf?
Brttnyj89 replied to indacrucible's topic in Food and Nutrition
For breakfast I usually have 1oz of oatmeal with sugar free maple syrup and a bit of butter. It's oh so good. -
This has got me through my puree stage!

My nutritionist has said that sugar free gum is okay. I haven't tried it yet. I think the issue is if you swallow it.

So far I love the Crush kool-aid packets! The orange is amazing.

Getting drain taking out today!

I had the dreaded drain tube for a week and it was awful! I felt such a relief when mine was removed. I didn't even feel it. -
Eating after RNY compared to eating after a band

My surgeon refused to do the sleeve for me because of reflux. I had it with my band and it was awful. -
How do you know when your full?
Brttnyj89 replied to Auroragirl4489's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
For me it's more mental as well. It's like I know to stop. After I'm finished I usually have a little hiccup and that lets me know that I'm full. Right now I'm on pureed foods so I'm sure when I transition to soft foods the feeling will be much different. -
I had surgery on 09/24. I took two weeks off from my desk job. After a week I felt like I could have gone back. I went back to work on 10/8 and on 10/9 I passed out and broke my foot in two places. So please don't rush it and make sure that you drink plenty of fluids.

1 week post-op...Feeling good, just sick of the liquid diet
Brttnyj89 replied to Twism44's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I promise it will pass! I was on liquids for a week after my surgery. It seems like the week went by very quickly. I stocked up on popsicles and broth! My mother-in-law even made me some homemade broth. It flew by. Also I think I was in so much pain the first week after that I really didn't want anything. -
Eating after RNY compared to eating after a band
Brttnyj89 replied to elcee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had my band removed in May and had RNY on 09/24. So far I am loving it! I'm never hungry. When I do eat I feel full and satisfied. It's a much different feeling with RNY than the band. It's hard for me to explain the full feeling. But when I'm full I know to stop. It's as if one more bite will send me into vomiting. -
Anyone regretting this?
Brttnyj89 replied to Anglkrys2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was a first for me! I don't remember anything. I remember getting up to go shower and next thing I was in the floor crying and my husband was crying as well. Definitely scared us both. -
Anyone regretting this?
Brttnyj89 replied to Anglkrys2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not even going to lie, last week I regretted my decision. I had surgery on 09/24 and went back to work on 10/8. I felt fine. Was getting at least 64oz of water in a day, I'm on pureed food. I was eating correctly. On Tuesday 10/9 I had a syncopal episode. When I went down my right knee landed on my left foot. I ended up with a broke foot in 3 places. -
I had my band removed in May, then had RNY on 09/24. My favorite thing to eat right now is sugar free jello cheesecake pudding. I make it with Fairlife Milk and add two scoops of GenePro!
-
I had RNY and returned after two weeks! I could have returned within a week but I had the extra time and thought I might as well take it!

I'm three weeks post and haven't stepped on the scale yet. I can tell I've lost some by the way my clothes hang. I don't plan on seeing what I weight until I follow up with my doctor.

Eating & drinking at the same time??
Brttnyj89 replied to stinaaaxxo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 weeks out today, still on pureed food but I find it extremely hard to drink and eat at the same time. I felt that I had a piece of pureed food stuck and took a small sip of water, big mistake. From that point on I have set a timer on my phone for 30 minutes and start drinking then. : ) -
Birth Control Options after VSG
Brttnyj89 replied to amanda-xo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the implant Nexaplanon and I love it! I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and had it inserted about a month prior. -
I'm in the pureed process as well. I haven't had cravings yet, but I haven't exactly felt hungry either. I'm having to make myself eat and keep a schedule.

Honestly it wasn't that bad! I didn't even feel it. He was talking to me the whole time he did it! I heard him cut the stitch and didn't feel a thing. He held it up and said it's out! I started to cry.
-
I honestly think it's up to your doctor. My friend had hers done with a different doctor, it was removed before she was discharged. My doctor likes to leave them in for a week.
-
I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean.

I had mine for a week. I was in pure misery. I couldn't walk, it hurt to sit up, and it was super annoying trying to shower. As soon as it came out it felt so wonderful. I didn't even feel it. I felt almost normal. I was able to do pretty much anything.

I didn't even feel it! It was such a relief to have it out!
