I just got back from a 14 hour flight each way from Korea. I didn't even think about until the return flight, when I could feel it tighten. I almost got stuck on the meal on the trip over, which is scary, when you are in the middle seat. I did get stopped at one screening for a wand check but hard to tell if it was underwire or anything related to the band as it when off in the same vicinity. I did bring "doggie poop bags" on the trip if I had an emergency regurgitation. I am only up 2 pounds, but only 12 hours post flight, I need more water, and back to a higher protein diet as I think the excess carbs are to blame. Also, my band has yet to be filled and I had surgery in April, down about 50.

Would Like A Positive Buddy

I only had a minor setback, had a 1.6 gain one week, until I took a look at my food log....800 cals of exercise and only eating 1000 was not good for me. I was banded April 3rd, started at 303 officially, and last week at my weight watchers meeting I was 259.8. The only game I have been playing is "will it stay down" as I reintroduce foods. I opted not to get filled yet as I have had to rely on meal replacement bars and shakes to get my calories in some days. I try to average 2 hours of exercise a day between tae kwon do, water aerobics, eliptical machine, and other machines. I plan on adding weights when I plateau. I don't know if I have been a lucky one, didn't even need the percocets after surgery, only my 3 days of the on-cue pump. I have waited for this surgery for 10 years and even at 303 was physically active. I also have been a WW member for 10 years, maybe that has helped too..... -
Banded Yesterday

I had a sore throat, but I figured it was either from possible tubing from surgery, the acid reflux from the hiatal hernia repair, or just simply the fact I was so dehydrated. I coped with Halls Breezers fruit pectin drops, to at least sooth and have some salvia going on. -
It is so nice having support! The gas I think has dissolved not really feeling it anymore. I ventured out to Target yesterday, even though I am in serious need of a shower and still have the lidocaine pump. The most painful thing so far was watching my husband eat Pizza Hut while I had a bottle of milk! I had a hiatal hernia repair as well and I am just worried I will stretch and pull it through again! I am getting antsy around the house. It is killing me being off of taekwondo! Though I guess since I am not the usual 300 pound lap band candidate, and have been active with taekwondo the last 4 years, I hope to feel nothing by next week. I go back to work Saturday for a 16 hour shift, overnight. Also, has anyone had muscle spasms near the port or where they cut? It is a really funky feeling!

I got banded yesterday as well, and have the ON-Q pump of lidocaine bathing my innards. I am not thrilled with the gas pain in the collarbones/shoulders, but expected it, since I have IBS and I have had that pain before. Moving around helps, it just feels like I did a killer ab workout. I will miss my taekwondo for a month, but I guess I will be walking a lot more to get rid of the gas pain

Banded Yesterday

I was banded yesterday, and I am not so thrilled with the gas pains. I have irritable bowel syndrome, so I knew what to expect. Moving is working, and my abs feel like I just did a killer workout. I also have the On-Q pump, so I can't shower until it is out. Has anyone had that? Also did anyone look into compression tops postop for pain management? I am going to go nuts not doing taekwondo while I heal, but I suppose a lot of walking is in my future with the gas pain! Thanks
