I cannot put into words how pleased I am. When I started this journey I was 269 lbs. Today I'm 209 and still moving downward. You can also head over to Obesity Help and read TON's of reviews on him. I just posted one Keep the faith and God's Speed in your endevor.

I had my sleeve done with Dr Alvarez on April 27th and would do it again in a heartbeat. This man is passionate about what he does and his staff is top notch. The compassion he and his staff have are unmatched in my opinion. They take care of you from start to finish. They will pick you up in San Antonio and bring you to and from his office in Mexico. My wife was with me and his assistant Jessica walked with her everywhere, everytime she ventured out and made sure she was good to go. At no time did she feel threatened or scared. I simply cannot put into words how much I would recommend this man. He ONLY does three surgeries a day unlike others in Mexico who are hurding 10 people a day like cattle in and out. I highly recommend you check out his YouTube Videos and if you have any specific questions please let me know and I'll be more than happy to help you out anyway possible.

Mushy Food Ideas
Sergeant_Hotsauce replied to DawnDuke1983's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jimmy, man I'm really sorry to hear that bro. Had no idea. Wishing you well and we'll keep you in our prayer here at the Patin house. God's Speed Bro! -
Today marks three weeks since my sleeve surgery. I have been on "Full Liquids" for two weeks and move to mushies on Sunday. I have to say I have not been getting my Protein in and the past two days I've missed my Water mark as well. I've felt horrible especially at night for some reason. I catch the chills, and am just dead beat tired. I've really focused on my Fluids today and I think I'm close to 64 oz's. I haven't been hungry at all either which kind of worries me.....I hope moving to mushies is a smooth transition. Otherwise, the weight is still coming off. My Stats are: Starting Weight Pre-op Diet - 267 Surgery Date - 249 Today - 221 Stay strong and positive fellow sleevers!!!

Going To Mx 5/28 And Have Question
Sergeant_Hotsauce replied to slatond's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm pretty sure that as per HIPPA regulations are not required to disclose any personal medical issues with anyone inside your place of employment. You can tell them if you want but I'm pretty sure you don't have to. -
So today I'm back to the grind. I flew into DC and damn if I haven't had heartbrun/reflux all day. What are you guys taking for this? I bought a bottle of Tums earlier but its not helping much.

I'm not having any problem going to room. I don't go as often since I can't drink a whole bottle of water in one swoop. I'd say I go 4 or 5 times a day. That's about the only way I know if I'm hydrated or not.

Congratulations on your awesome progress and I wish you continued sucess!!

"mexicans Kidnap Americans. There Is A War There"
Sergeant_Hotsauce replied to amytug's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Its funny how people can be so nieve....I can gaurantee you if you "actually" watched the local news in ANY town across america you will find the same kind of crap being shown. Kidnappings, killings, shots fired, the list goes on and on and on.....tell your friend to grow up and get a life. There are parts of Mexico that are bad, granted, I get that but so is EVERY city in the US. I was just in Mexico 7 days ago for my sleeve, with my wife and low and behold here I am typing in beautiful Colorado and no I was held hostage and forced to come here by Mexican drug lords....my wife walked around every day to get something to eat and never felt the least bit threatened. -

Best of luck to you brother. I'm sure you'll be just fine. Keep us updated!!

Today is my one week mark since my sleeve with Dr Alvarez. So far its been smooth sailing. I'll be on clear liquids until Sunday then I start full liquids. Don't really have any complaints other than the clear liquids are really getting old but its what I have to do so its really not a problem. Day of surgery I was 249 down from 269. Today I am down to 234!! The road ahead looks good!!!

Garcia, Alvarez, Aceves- So Confusing!
Sergeant_Hotsauce replied to amytug's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I chose Dr Alvarez and here's why! First and foremost he has dedicated his life to this proceedure by performing over 2800 VGS's. I also found every single one of his YouTube videos to be extremly informative. It showed me; at least that he was dedicated and comiited to keeping his patients informed. Also he ONLY does three proceedures a day unlike others where I've heard they are running people in and out like cattle. One guy posted he was number 10 on the day. You also recover in an actual hosptial, not a hotel or guest house or whatever else is going on out there. This was EXTREMLY important to me. If there was anything that happened I wanted a piece of mind in knowing I was somewhere there was someone who could tend to me. His cost are $8700 but in my opinion it was worth every penny. His assistant Jessica was a heaven sent for my wife. She would take her lunch, dinner and check in on us ALL the time. I was impressed beyond belief with he and his staff and will forever be a champion for this man. Very few people effect me in the way this person has and I will forever be grateful to him. If you have any questions, concerns or need anything please feel free to let me know and I'll be more than happy to help you out.
