Great to hear all the stories!! I was banded 3/27/12, I was up to a 65 lb loss until the holidays and my birthday season came along and I went a little crazy and put on 10 lbs. My doctor has me on a low/no carb diet, I tend to follow Atkins. I have a hard time with rice, breads and potatoes, they do not agree with my band. I also spend pretty much every day doing cardio or weights and sometimes I was going twice a day, I drink any where from 99-120 oz of water a day. Getting banded was the best decision I have ever made for myself (besides my divorce, lol).

Since my last fill in September I have been having the same occurrence of burping, only happens when I eat. I read somewhere it may mean we have too much restriction. I'm trying to roll with it, I have 25 more pounds that I would like to lose.

I had to do a five day liquid diet and that was to shrink my liver to make it easier to place the band.

It is very difficult, particularly the first few months, I did not start feeling restriction unitl my 3rd fill, I have had several stuck episodes since the last fill and i stay fuller longer, but I still have to remind myself that I am not hungry, because I am grazer, i had to stop bringing snacks to work and only bring my alloted meals. My brain is starting to cooperate but it is a daily stuggle. I also try to remember that diverting from new choices does not mean I go on a 6 month binge, I start over the next meal and move on from slip up. Try to stay positive, the scale will go up but it will also go down....Best of luck to you!

I had my 3rd fill yesterday, so I now have 5ccs in my 10cc band, I immediately started feeling a difference, and low and behold I had my first pbing episode....of course it happened at work .....defenitely not something I want to expience again. With the feeling of very little to no restriction I guess I got a little lazy in my chewing and small pieces. Will have to be more diligent from now on!

I am not really feeling any restriction, I have 3cc's in my band and do not go back til the 22 for my second fill. Thinking about moving the appt up. Scale has stalled but my clothes are feeling baggier. I know there is an adjustment period but it does make it tough.

I had my first fill yesterday and was surpirsed how easy it was, I had read all kinds of experiences on here but for me, other than the initail stick, I felt nothing and he was done in about 30 seconds and no lidocaine. Good luck!

Hello fellow March Bandsters!!! Today is my first fill and I am little nervous and very excited to move on to next stop in my journey! Learning to listen to my body I think will be the hardest hurdle but I have been working on it the past few weeks! Looking forward to watching our journeys!

Hello, tomorrow will be 3 weeks since my surgery.....Should I be able to feel my port? I do not and that has me a little apprehensive as I get closer to my first fill next week. Thanks for all responses.

Phew, thanks.....when I went in for my consult my liasion let me feel her stomach where the port was...I guess since she was skinny, I was able to!!! I kinda figured too much flabby going on but nice to have some reassurance.

you can do it!!! I ended up throwing most of my kids candy out!! I am two weeks post banded and had the pleasure of doing my liquid diet while on vacation with my kids, very very difficult, but we keep our mind on the finish line and power through....staying busy helps! good luck!

I had always considered WLS and dreamed that if I could afford it, I would have the surgery with out any reservations. I already knew my insurance company would not cover the expense, so I would need to a self pay patient. Things started coming togethere in January and I started checking out different doctors in my area. I ended up going with Dr. Cohen, friendly staff, and the female I worked with the most had the surgery and was very informative. I scheduled the surgery, pre-op was horrible beacuse I was on vacation with my kids and watching them eat while I drank my shakes was no fun, but I knew the end result was worth it. I was scheduled for surgery at 645 am and I was home by 1030. Tuesday and Wednesday were rough, every day since has gotten better. i started my journey at 254lbs and I am currently rocking it out at 240lbs. I started walking 2 miles a day, joined a gym and signed up for a 5k run in November. I really want this to work and I know that how well this works is entirely up to me. I have my first fill scheduled for April 27. So, for now I am on mushies and soft food. I keep my shakes on hand because they are handy and after 6 differnt kinds, I finally found one I can stomach. Small meals work for me, I can not eat very much and I stay full for a few hours, sucking down the water (joy). I am glad I found this site and am looking forward reading more for useful help...I am also on MFP user name lizard0103!

Slow Weight Loss
lizard0103 replied to BandedNeakyMinx12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
any weight loss is great, I just started mushies and am thrilled just for some texture. I managed to lose 13 lbs pre op and have lost another pound in this past week. Lets keep trucking along, we can do this!!!
