  1. I have the same problem. I transition to purée on Monday and went shopping and stocked up on what sounded good today at the store.
  2. I was sleeved on 4/24. Fully expected to be on full liquids for 2 weeks post-op based on everything I received from the doctor's office and the NUT. When my doctor visited me Thursday morning to discharge me he said that I should do full liquids for the weekend but then start on puree foods Monday. In fact, they even ordered some puree food for Thursday's Breakfast (I must add the pureed eggs repulsed me when I opened the container to see what it was). I was fully prepared for 2 weeks to prepare recipe ideas for puree food.....any suggestions on GOOD food?
  3. I ditto the previous comment

How Much Time Off Of Work?

My surgeon told me to plan on 2 weeks. I figure when I go for my 2 week follow up, provided I'm feeling well, I will ask for a full release to return. My boss totally understands....being a workaholic, it is tough. I'll be checking email and doing a bit from home as I can.

  6. Don't think of it as a sign you shouldn't have surgery. I was self pay and hit a few road bumps due to a history of melanoma. As frustrated as I was it delayed me over a month, my surgeon was looking out for my best interest. Your surgeon wants to be sure you will come out of surgery with no complications! Keep on and everything will work out!

    Self Pay Financing

I stayed in the US. Financed with credit card and Care Credit. Wanted a local doctor that could meet me at the hospital if I had an emergency. That benefit worth the price difference in my mind.

    Lets Talk About This Drain

I didn't have a drain for this surgery but have had one in the past. Didn't feel a thing when they pulled it out.
  11. 46 hours post op and waiting for my doctor to visit and sign my hospital discharge papers. Minimal pain....discomfort when I move. Some nausea but just ask for drugs to help with that. Surgeon told my mom my surgery was "boring"...meaning everything went as planned with no unexpected findings. Can't wait to get home and love on my puppies, shower, and sleep in my own bed/recliner! Good luck to those April sleevers waiting for survey and speedy recovery to everyone!!!
  12. Tomorrow is my day. Today was rough on clear liquids only.

    Frozen Yogurt In Shakes?

Your pre-op diet will depend on your surgeon and nutritionist. I am not allowed to add frozen yogurt or fruit to my shakes. My mom, who had lapband surgery a few years ago, was allowed to have fruit with hers.
  15. April 24 for me! Good luck April sleevers!
  16. Today was day 3 of my two week pre-op. I have a few people close to me that are my go tos when I feel like caving. We can do this. My surgery is April 24th.

Nervous and excited. I'm somewhat of a workaholic so I am working the 23rd. My boss doesn't know how to survive without me for 2 weeks!
