Looking good! Same surgery date as you!!! Congrats on your loss so far!
-
Hopefully, it's your body adjusting to all the changes. I am on birth control and even with birth control I had irregular periods about every other week after surgery. Just over 4 months out, I think my body has finally adjusted and synched back up with my birth control.

What Did You Name Your Sleeve?
legal loser replied to pretty-pink's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I named my sleeve Stella. The few coworkers that know I had surgery know that I refer to my new stomach as Stella and it's basically a code work when I talk about my new stomach not liking something, making noise, or not feeling a certain food. -
I would say if you don't have "second thoughts" or are not anxious, you probably aren't normal. I was comfortable with my decision and didn't think my surgery date would come fast enough. BUT those last few days before surgery I felt the same way.....even thought about walking out of the hospital once I was there.....until I spoke with my surgeon right before surgery and he reassured me that it was the right choice and he would take care of me!

Halloween Contest October 31 2012
legal loser replied to sexyme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weight before surgery: 259.6 Date of surgery: 4/24/2012 Current weight: 200.2 Goal weight for competition: 185 Hopeful for more than 15.2 but 185 is the lowest I remember being as an adult and I want to get back there by Halloween....and that would be nearly 75 pounds since surgery at the 6 month mark. Good luck everyone!!! -
Labor Day Challenge 2012
legal loser replied to jhansen71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So, I didn't reach my goal. I had set what I would consider an ambitious goal in hopes I would get there. Struggled the last month and just when I got in the routine of working out, I was hit with a terrible cold and sore throat that knocked me down for about a week. Getting to work was about all I could do. Am I disappointed I didn't reach my goal? Sure. Am I going to let it stop me? No. While the scale might not have been going down, my clothes got baggier and I was able to buy some more regular women's department clothes instead of plus size!!! Challenge SW: 214.2 CW: 200.7 Challenge Weight Loss: 13.5 -
So me! Yesterday my mom and I went shopping because she needed some help picking out some new clothes. She shops in the plus size department (she is a banding slowly making her way down) and I was in the regular department. I felt like the people were looking at me like "get back to the fat girl clothes"....even the sales associates looked a little differently at me. I did have one sales associate ask if she could get me started in a dressing room, I politely declined because I had to stick to tradition.....side-by-side dressing rooms with my mom so we could try on and then evaluate each other's outfits. Thankfully we both were able to make out on some amazing sales!!!

Post-Op Image Distortion.....
legal loser replied to legal loser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all for your responses and thoughts. I think I like "hiding" behind my clothes. I have gotten rid of the baggiest things, but still have some that I wear. It's more of an issue when it comes to wearing a shirt from the regular department instead of the plus size department. I'm also actually afraid of the attention.....I like to fade into the background. I know I have to get over this issue or I'm not going to make it very far in the professional world!! -
I had surgery April 24th and I'm down nearly 60 pounds. As a professional, I have had no choice but to update my wardrobe. But, I cannot bring myself to wear any of my new shirts to work. I try them on, they look fine, but when I go to wear them to work, I look in the mirror and convince myself that it's too tight or doesn't look right on me. I think it is because I still cannot believe I am down nearly 60 pounds and find comfort in my "baggy clothes." I look in the mirror, go "wow" that girl looks good....and then, I realize it is me and I'm like, no that girl looks bad! I'm to the point, where I almost want to hire an image consultant to shop with me so I can see that I am able to wear these clothes!....it's that bad! Anyone else feeling me on this one?

Labor Day Challenge 2012
legal loser replied to jhansen71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know. But it seems like my body is like, what are you doing and is completely comfortable in the 200s. I know I'll get there. Believe me, I am more than happy with the loss to date, but am so looking forward to seeing a number that starts with a "1". -
I too cannot wait to get under 200. I seem to have stalled once I hit 205. I know that I'll get there, but it seems like my body like "no way, I've been over 200 for years and you want me to be under that number."....I know it'll get there and I'm hoping my new workout routine makes it much SOONER rather than later. Stalls happen on the scale and they suck. Very thankful for the weight I have lost so far.

Sleevers Who Were Prone To Motion Sickness Before Surgery
legal loser replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get motion sickness. They gave me some stuff for the nausea and a patch. Had some nausea the day after surgery they controlled with something in my IV. Once I took the patch off, however, it seems my nausea went away. Didn't have any after I got home. Hopefully you fare well! -

Struggling here because I feel like I've hit a stall that's never ending. Frustrated, but more people are noticing the weight loss....just have to remind myself, the scale is going to move. Not sure you are correct with the 20 weeks of employment. Federal Law is one year and at least 1250 hours. -
Anyone Have A Relatively Easy Recovery Story?
legal loser replied to Birdy18's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My recovery was relatively easy. No pain meds after the first night. I was sore, don't get me wrong, but not in what I call "pain." had minimal nausea. Moved to purée foods 5 days out. As long as I ate slowly, no problems. My biggest problems was with figuring out when to take Vitamins so they didn't make me sick. Worst part was the fatigue. Returned to work 2.5 weeks out and had to cut out an hour early for about a week. Went home, napped, and was good to go. Everyone has a different recovery. My doctor was surprised at how easy mine was. -
Post Op Day 1 Fluid Pain
legal loser replied to DEZ1975's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Warmer drinks tend to go down better until the swelling goes down in your new tummy. I found that even room temp. drinks worked better than cold stuff. -
I was told this BUT can do ground beef now....so I have plenty of burgers!! I live alone and there are nights I will go to Wendy's, get a cheeseburger with mustard, remove the bun, and eat!

April Sleevers Losing Hair?
legal loser replied to madambones's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved April 24th and started losing lots of hair! Chopped several inches of last week in hopes that less length will help....that, and I was tired of long hair. Needed something new to go with the new me! My hairdresser said it's not as bad as I made it out to be....and I agree, I would rather be bald and skinny! -
I regretted it for about a week two weeks out. Battled some depression. My mom had left and I still wasn't back to work. 3 months out and no more regrets!
