Today Is My One Year Surgiversary...
Zino replied to Lissa's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Come on Lissa where are those pictures? -
Lol that is so funny. That is all I did for the first six weeks is watch cooking shows and eating shows, then cook supper for the family every night. And I am talking about good stuff. All stuff I couldn't eat because I was on liquids. Good to see I wasn't the only one but food shows are the only interesting thing on during the middle of the day.

I am guessing everyone will be different. All I acan do is offer an opinion from my experience. 4 1/2 months post op. I felt this same thing after my surgery after the pain from surgery itself subsided. I was told that my dody will need to adjust in making less stomach acid. I also noticed that over time I had a lot of rumbling from gas and my insides moving as I lost weight. I was fortunate and lost a lot of weight in the 4 months but in the first six weeks I fought what I believed to be hunger pains, but was probably everything healing and adjusting. After the first six weeks I started feeling more normal and had less hunger issues, and now I have none. But like I said everyone will be different. Hang in there and it will take care of itself in time. I became friends with Dryers no sugar added real fruit Popsicles, and still eat them to this day. I have currently lost 90 lbs in 4 1/2 months, but I am a guy and I guess we loose weight a lot easier.

I Know I Shouldn't Complain But...
Zino replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try coil flour mashed potatoes. There are no potatoes in it just the veggie. There are several good recipes online if you google it. They are awesome and healthy. -
It takes time to get use to. I am 4 months out and have lost 90 lbs and sometimes still think I am fat. Keep one pair of your old clothes and try them on once a month. It helped me.

Red Bull No Carb No Sugar Almost
Zino replied to ReeTee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would suggest that you let the surgery do its work and fight through your body being tired. Your body is adjusting to lower calorie intake, it took a long time for your body to get to that point so give it a little time to adjust to your new weight and calorie intake. I am at 4 months now and starting to get more energy naturally. -
I'm not sure what they called it but it must have been extra strength super glue to hold my stomach. No stitches the staples on my sleeve live with me forever.
-
I think the average is about 70percent of your body fat not necessarily so many pounds. Keep on mind that this is an average I have heard of a lot of people who have lost 80 to 90 percent body fat from the sleeve. A lot will depend on how dedicated you are, and I am sure you are plenty dedicated because this is not a choice people make lightly.

Eating Quickly W No Side Effects
Zino replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will eat slower when you start fluids, it is a lot harder to move the food through the sleeve. Use that time when you have to eat slow to retrain your eating habits. -
Most will have you stay over night just for precaution a nd to do an upper GI scan to check for leaks. Some let you go the same day. It really depends on your doctor and insurance or if your self pay and want to keep the cost down.

When Will I Stop Regretting Having This Done?
Zino replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should never have any regrets. You will start feeling more normal around week 6-8 when you are eating regular food. All the other stuff will fade over time just give it a chance. When you here us talk about this being a journey it is because we have all gone through the same thing or similar things. Mark this thread and message me back when you get to 4 months and let me know how you feel. I will bet that you will feel fantastic. Keep fighting -
Hopefully this will keep going. These are my before and after pics. Today is my 4 month anniversary of my surgery. I have losy 90 lbs from 315 lbs to my current weight in this pic at 225. Forgive my old age and shirtless ness but I couldn't resist. My surgery was on May 1st 2012. Hopefully others will share theirs.

Thanks for the encouragement here is the answer to a couple of your questions. My waist size at start was 46 and now I am at 36. I was very lucky I guess with the excess skin, but I was told that water helps so I drink nothing but water. Hope that helps
