Hi April Banders!! My name is Jenna and I had my Lap-Band surgery on April 10, 2012. It was an outpatient procedure...I went into the hospital at 7:30am and I was home and in my bed by 3:30pm. I'm so happy with the results I'm having so far. I've lost a total of 20 pounds in less than a month. I think that's awesome!!! Starr Vampira (My Lap-Band's name) will get her first fill on May 7, 2012. I'm looking forward to it, because I'm feeling hungry after about 2 hours of eating....normally I just drink more fluids and that helps. I haven't had any cravings at all, which is great even after I see food commercials! I wasn't sure that was possible. I look forward to talking to you all!!

Congratulations on your surgery Rebecca!!! Wow a week and a half on liquids only? I only had liquids for a week and then I was told to go to puree foods and my doctor said to just cut meats into tiny pieces and chew chew chew! I know all doctors give different directions, considering that every book I have read gave different time frames on the Post-Op diet. One of the things that really helped me during liquids only was beef and chicken bullion. Popsicles were great too! I also had Arctic Zero ice cream. My doctor also allowed apple sauce during the liquids only week. How much longer do you have on liquids only before you move onto puree foods?

Is It Normal To Go Three Weeks With No Weight Loss?!
Driven4SUCCESS replied to show1980's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You should probably call your doctor or nutritionist, maybe they can give you more information or suggestions. The only thing I can think of is that you need an adjustment or that you are working out and gaining muscle which can cause weight gain or no change at all. -
Is It Normal To Go Three Weeks With No Weight Loss?!

How long do you go between eating? If you feel hungry in less than 4 hours after eating, I'd say you need a fill. Call and talk to your surgeon. -
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for the comment. I'm excited to meet people as well and to support and encourage my fellow banders!!! How are you feeling? I'm over 2 weeks post-op and I'm feeling great!! I'll be having my first fill in early May. Is your first fill scheduled yet? Hope you are doing well.

It's not all that bad, I promise!!! I had my surgery done on April 10th. I went into the hospital at 7am and I was home by 3pm. I felt more pain in my shoulder and lower back from the gas they use to make your tummy bigger, than at the incision sites. Make sure you ask for ice packs in the hospital if they don't give them to you automatically, the ice really helps!!! Also, make sure you have a bunch of 100% fruit juices (no sugar added)...those helped a lot too during the liquids only part. I wish you all the very best!!!

Are You Going To Tell Anyone About Your Surgery???
Driven4SUCCESS replied to Lola Granola's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've only told my immediate family and really close friends. All but one were very supportive and the one that wasn't told me she thinks that I'm doing the WRONG thing and she knows that I will fail! After all of her put downs and negativity I ended our friendship and have been very happy ever since. Other than that, I just tell people that I'm watching my calories, eating high Protein foods, low carbs, and very low sugar, and working out! Just remember, YOU did this for yourself, not for anyone else. I wish you all the very best in your journeys!! -

Congratulations on taking the first step! You are already on your way! I wish you the very best in your pre-op and post-op journey!! -
Hi Everyone! My name is Jenna and I joined www.lapbandtalk.com yesterday but didn't have time to introduce myself. I am on my 5th day of Pre-Op liquids only and I'm doing GREAT! I'm already down 8.8 pounds. I'm still in total shock!!! My surgery is in 6 days and I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I know that I'm in good hands though because my surgeon is amazing. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I look forward to posting more on the forum and meeting my fellow lap-banders. Hope everyone is having a great day!
