Anybody Else Get Offended Or Is It Just Me!
4ALongerLife replied to SpaceyCasey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I was cute at a heavier weight, but not at my heaviest. I look GREAT now (or so I've heard). Either way, I just know I'm me. I feel much better now in my clothes and my size and for my health and the rest of it, whatever. Instead of wondering how you looked before, just say thank you and keep on moving on.... that's the best advice I could possibly offer. -
I am below my goal weight (first goal down!). Endoscopy this morning, still have to heal but the leak is smaller. Woo hoo!

Call your dr's office. Make sure you understand about your dr's prescribed diet (every dr.'s recommendations differ in some way) but see about the incisions. Do you have any drainage coming out? Even if not, call his office (even over the weekend) and inquire about those pls. Best of luck to you.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
4ALongerLife replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have many more reasons that what I can post, but the main one? Seeing myself in pictures in November (which is on my profile as my "before") and going to my gyno in Dec for my annual. All 9 months of my pregnancy, even ballooning at the end, he never said a single solitary word about my being too heavy. Not once.. and at the end, I ballllooooooned (to me I feel like I did). Since my parents both died (one of a heart attack, the other of cancer .. then another grandmother with a massive heart attack) and I saw him in Dec, he told me ... you are playing with fire with your health history, it's time to take control of your life, essentially. There were many other things, but that was the 'final' one. -
Can You Eat Out After This Type Of Surgery?
4ALongerLife replied to Joy1961's topic in Food and Nutrition
Yes you can eat almost anything. But I choose not to in honesty. I eat so little and it takes me away from my goals (One more lb till 100 lbs lost, woop woop!). I generally stay away from fried foods now and olive oil though (fat content makes me ill). But have loved to go to Cracker Barrel (for catfish plate that I split with my hubby) and KFC (a leg and a wing or two legs and a bite of both sides is more than enough for me). I don't drink alcohol anymore, but I haven't been much of a drinker in the last few years. If you have a "love affair" with food, it is a hard adjustment.... I won't lie. I am a total "foodie." But what's more important to you? You will THINK more about food after a sleeve because you have less area to fill. So going out will be a planning event (planning what you will eat). Best of luck! -
Negative Comments On My Surgery
4ALongerLife replied to bindi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Girl you will make it as successful as you believe you can be. The band has it's own issues, which isn't the sleeve. Give it a shot and show those suckas that you believe more in yourself than any negativity those nellies dish out! You will meet these sort of obstacles throughout your weight loss journey. Believe me, I know all about it! Believe in YOU and do what you know to be right (i.e. listen to your dr., workout when you are ok to do so/on a regular basis, log your food, Protein first, etc etc). All of these are successful behaviors. Adopt them and know YOU CAN DO IT! Best of luck! xx -
hey i guess i'm ecclectic... because i have brittney AND burn it to the ground lol.... i need to go get the beautiful ppl .. wonder if they have a remix?

Day 4 Of Liquids.....
4ALongerLife replied to danibecca's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love cream of chicken and mushroom Soup. IDK why but it's the bomb. Mix it with 4 oz of ff milk and 2 oz of water... makes 2 servings at 1 c each. And you might say yuck at this, but blended ff cottage cheese with SF torani syrup (I love it with caramel). It's got a lot of Protein (12 g) with low calories (80 total) in a 1/2 c. It's hard for liquids with your tummy, but once you are sleeved, it's much easier. Hang in there, you are doing wonderfully! Best of luck! xx -
Does Anyone Not Like Their New Look Once Loosing Their Weight?
4ALongerLife replied to slatter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope you aren't. I still have issues seeing me as this size. (I've lost 99 lbs in 6 months, well 6 months and a couple of weeks.) It's WEIRD to me still. But don't like it? IDK on that. Just adjustments in perception really. I can do so much more.... what's not to like about that? Best of luck, always to you! xx -
Clothing Size And Weight Lost-Help!
4ALongerLife replied to jewels1227's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
In the "bigger" sizes, there is more of a spread differiential. I NEVER knew this ... until I hit the smaller sizes. I could be 50 to 60 lbs heavier and go from 16 to 18 or vice versa. It's like 5 lbs difference from a 6 to an 8 (not that I'm there... YET! smiles). I probably have record of my measurements and weights, but IDK off the top of my head. The best advice that I can give you is... stay focused. Make sure you log and exercise and get your Water and Protein... it'll come off! Best of luck to you always! xx -
Sometimes, I forget how blessed I am. Thanks to a true hater for reminding me how wonderful God has been to me... through all of my trials and tribulations.... thank you so much for reminding me through your jealousy! Totally priceless. xx

David Guetta. I am not a "techno" person but I love his stuff and he's really main stream lately. I like UP beats for the gym and I do a lot of 'remixes' (faster beats) to really PUMP me up in the gym... I have a bunch on my mp3, I'll have to find some more for you. (oh some of benny benassi... and if you search on pandora, they'll make like suggestions! just a thought) Best of luck!

Full Liquid - What To Eat?
4ALongerLife replied to scorpion509's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
One of the best 'cream of soups' IMO is/was cream of chicken and mushroom. It's SO flavorful. Also, this is going to sound gross probably, but it's good... blend 1/2 c of NF cottage cheese and mix with your choice of flavored sugar free torani or davinci syrup. It's less calories than ricotta and greek yogurt (it's 80 cals for 1/2 a c with 11 g of protein). You could add a Protein mix to it and depending on what you add, up the protein a lot. Best of luck! -
Today was a good day. Thanks be to God (sorry my catholic schooling is coming out of me I guess lol). Praying for more of the same tomorrow, for myself and several others. xx

I'm sorry to read this Izuri. I've been there. It's so freaking frustrating! Wanna know what helped me? Well the one thing you won't want to hear... working out more. My psychologist (I go to a support group on thurs.) says that it takes 60-90 minutes of cardio exercise to lose weight. I was like WHAT? I do 30-45 a day already and was stall city. He said that's the normal amount of working out to maintain once you are at goal. Talk about shoot the messenger! But guess what? It worked, dammit. And increasing my water helps (I try to do 3-4/28 oz mug that I have). And do you track your food? That really helps me. That's all I can possibly suggest for you. I'm sorry, I probably am not much help, but that was the intent of my post! Get away stallsville. Let her have her loss! xxx

Ok did you try it? I did and YUCK I unhappily report. But blended cottage cheese with a sugar free torani syrup is good (caramel and it reminds me of pralines and cream). But green apple nectar in it, yuck Dang it... let me know if yours was better!

For Women Only....period
4ALongerLife commented on tmorgan813's blog entry in A funny thing happend while I was loosing weight
Time to go see your dr. sweetie. If it's been 5 months, is it time yet for your annual? Mine's always at the end of the year. And I actually didn't have periods for a long while. Now, since I've lost so much, I am. Wheeeeeee. And yes, I am more emotional at times and break out, but thankfully I just am a b*tch probably. lol. Ask your gyno what's up. -
I have found that cottage cheese with sugar free syrup, mixed in a magic bullet, is pretty darned good. Don't knock it till you've tried it! I think 1/2 c. is 11 g of protein and if you add a nectar instead, that's like what? 32 g of protein? I'm going to have to try it first before I commit to telling you to try it tho.... GOOD LUCK!

Thanks all, I truly appreciate it. xx Stephanie
