  1. What a relief for you.[emoji3]
  2. Well done to everyone who is on a losing streak, stayed the same or even gained but still came back - you are all winners. I still can't get back on track. I seem to have a couple of good days but then fall by the wayside again and then find it hard to pick myself up.[emoji853] We were with good friends at the weekend, who we have not seen for a few months, and the husband has joined Slimming world, ,my husband chatted to him and came away interested (he needs to lose weight) but said he would only go if I went with him. The reason being that they have very few males go and he didn't want to feel awkward. I feel in two minds - I want to go and support him but then I think it is going backwards (slimming clubs being part of my before (sleeve) life but I do want to get things back together and maybe SW would help.
  3. It's amazing how the extra calories creep in without use realising. Good for you for getting on with exercise. I know I need to do this regularly but I'm not[emoji853].
  4. Coops, you know I have had regain and in my case it is down to what I drink (it's not protein drinks!). Along with a drink we also seem to get out the crisps (chips) and the chocolate. So any evening where we share a bottle of wine we are consuming hundreds of calories and not one bit of goodness in any of them. Is it possible that uncounted calories are creeping in with alcohol or snacks that accompany it? I am trying by not drinking in the house and as we don't go out too much to the pub it has been cut down.
  5. Maricela, good plan. Thank you too for your positivity. You are right and we can do this. It is hard to stand up and say we have fallen off the wagon and sometimes even harder to get back on plan. We need to take small steps and if today is better than yesterday (no matter how small) then we are winning. Yesterday was a winning day because I drank more water than the day before. Today no cookies have passed my lips - winning!
  6. Well I need to lose 50 to get back to my lowest. The weight has gone on gradually over the past 3 years, I knew I had to get it in hand but didn't. How did I get in this position well it's wine and snacking (grazing). My husband and I can share a bottle of wine (or 2!) but it is accompanied by crisps (chips) and a family bar of chocolate. Cakes and biscuits have also creeped in to my diet. See I know exactly what I'm doing wrong. I do have good restriction and if I eat correctly I get full on quite small amounts. The other thing I have done wrong is give up exercise. I don't like exercising but I do know it is essential. My plan: initially there will be no wine at home and consequently cut out the crisps and chocolate. Exercise. The number 50 is too big for me and quite frightening so I am going to cut it down into sections of 5 which seems so much more manageable. I have started today and I have used my elliptical and there is no wine in the house.
  7. Regain here. I will weigh and post tomorrow. I really need support.

    Goal Weight?

This is an old table I have and I have posted it previously but it might help some. It takes age in to consideration too.

Wow. With the exit of so many vets...

Oregondaisy I sent you a pm. There was an issue with bullying, pm's being sent and pm's being read! Resulting in some people being banned and others leaving in solidarity. The site is relatively quiet these days but I suppose it will build up again given time. Groups no longer exist and so all the contacts we had together seem to have disappeared. I have tried pm ing some but they don't seem to log on. Glad you are back.
  10. Well done you for telling it straight. Find group support for your alcohol problem and maybe a nutritionist could help you get back on track with your eating program. Best Wishes

    chronic coughing

Do you take a blood pressure tablet? A friend of mine a few years ago had her pills changed and developed a cough. It was a few months before they worked out that the cough was related to the pills. Just a long chance.

    Surgery aborted

The surgeon obviously had your long term health in mind when making the decision so be thankful for that. Your disappointment must be huge and for that I send you a {{hug}}. Rest and speak to your surgeon when he visits and ask if another type of surgery would be suitable.

    Is my friend avoiding me?

Perhaps she thinks you can't go out to eat anymore. Phone her and suggest an activity that doesn't involve food.
