Denise, good to hear your getting back on track, wish I could do the same. I'm pathetic at the moment and getting nowhere. All my own fault no one else's! -

I had a really good day food wise yesterday, hoping to repeat it today. Denise how did your return to the gym go? I need to get into a exercise routine again - it amazing how easy it is to get out of that routine. -

Denise to save the pictures I think you right click on it. Some good news, hubby has secured an interim job for about 3 months followed by a part time post with the same company following that. We are so pleased and it stops the bank balance falling any lower. This is exactly the type of position he has been looking for. To Celebrate Kevin wanted us to book a holiday so we just went in to the Virgin shop and booked for Cuba, so excited. Cuba has been on his bucket list forever, there and India! We go in mid August for 2 weeks, one week in Havana and one week on the coast. I know it is going to be quite old fashioned and backward in some ways in regarding the tourist industry but we are excited to go before it changes too much. So I really do need to get this weight under control before my hols - I might need to wear a swimsuit!! Public holiday (May Day) here today so I'm home from work and relaxing which is nice cos I just been to see mum again this weekend and sorted her house a bit more. She seems to be OK with it and says she appreciates it but sometimes I feel like I am ripping her life apart as I get rid of 'things'. Hope everyone is well and happy. -
Leading up to my death?
UK Cathy replied to 1cutiejulie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wrote letters to my husband and children telling them how much I loved them and my hopes and dreams for their futures. I told them to open them if anything happened to me. As I got on plane ( had surgery overseas and travelled by myself!) changed my mind and told them to open them when I was in the recovery room cos they deserved to know now much I love them and not when I've gone. -

The extra week off work was good for the mind but not the scales. I didn't put any extra weight on (still got the holiday weight though) but didn't knuckle down to weight loss like I thought and hoped I would. Well another week and another try at it looms. -

As predicted scale was up for weigh in yesterday but I had a good day eating wise, not quite a full fast day but certainly down on what I have been eating. I need to get rid of the carb craving and I suppose that will take a few days. Kim your post was amazing so heartfelt and honest. I really like that you took notice of Craig's dream to bike round the world and took practical steps to see if you could be part of that. It's sad that it looks like you won't. I have no advice as to whether he should go off on adventures with his biker friend but you know him and have been with him for so many years and so only you really know if your relationship would survive this. Envious of your trip to Mull as it is supposed to be one of the most beautiful places in UK. Pity you couldn't make any pit stops, coops and I are only about 1 hour away from each other and I'm sure we would have made an effort to come and meet up. Denise so glad to hear that the fusion is working, you must be so relieved. Please do keep on following the doctors instructions. Georgia is hard getting back from holiday isn't it and going back to work even harder. Coops hope work isn't too bad this week and that something suitable comes up on job front. Week in Scotland was lovely and lazy but last week with mum was more frantic. I supervised the renovation of a wc and bathroom, sorted decorated and got a new carpet in a bedroom and had a quick tidy up of front and back gardens. I have now come home for a rest. Mum herself was in good form and it was nice to have the time to spend with her. Like Coops work starts again this week but I have been selfish and taken unpaid leave for a week so I can have some down time. This week at work we have our new students for September coming in for a trial. Usually there are so many staff around that we fight for jobs and the time goes so slow so I thought 'sod it' I'll have the week off. Love to everyone x -

I will join in Monday, have been away for 2 weeks now and just want to get home. We have ate and drank badly these past 2 weeks and I am dreading the scale. A fast day would be good for my body. -

Is anyone's goal weight higher than the BMI chart weight?
UK Cathy replied to her1981's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have a poster of BMI in relation to age. Unfortunately it is not on this iPad but as soon as I get home Sunday I will post. It is an image I post periodically and it gets a lot of interest. -
I went Czech Rep 4 yrs ago but Co I went with brought in yoghurt and drinks daily so no money needed. You should check with the Co. Clothes - I had only travel there and travel back (comfortable). Nightdress (2 or 3 depending on how long in) thin dressing gown, smellies, slippers. I took iPad as wifi available and this meant I could send messages and FaceTime. Travelling back was fine I just put on a 'pathetic woman' face and asked a nice young man if he could put my case up for me and again to lift it down when we arrived. Sorry you should check if wifi available in the hospital

Anyone else use an Instant Pot or other electric pressure cooker?
UK Cathy replied to 2goldengirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I got one and it is great. I just use Internet to find recipes. Hip pressure cooking is a great site and there is a cook book called the same that I got off amazon. Tend to use it for Soups and stews and meat based recipes, never tried puds or rice in it but forums say it is great for both of them. Only 2 of us in house so I usually cook a recipe and freeze half so I have plenty in freezer for days I'm busy. I'm in UK and electric pressure cookers are not too common here but they are catching on. I too thought long and hard before buying but so glad I did. -

Mama Mia was amazing, whole audience up dancing and singing by the end. I'm up in Scotland visiting SIL this week and then with mum next week as I get a new bathroom installed for her next week. I'm lucky that I get a 2 week break from my job. No weigh in as no access to scales though I am mindful that clothes are snug. I survived the no alcohol for lent and I actually felt better for it. Hubby and I both realised we enjoy wine too much. Going to restrict it to 2 nights a week and restrict the amount too. -

The weigh in was not good today but it was totally expected as I have been with relatives/friends for the past 5 days. Weight up 2lb and wallet down £25 (from races), pity it couldn't have been the other way round with weight down 25 and wallet up 2! -

They both look so cute Sheryl, I presume the newest one is the little brown one - looks like Bella is a Yorkie or has some Yorkie in her. Funny enough my (Ellie) was originally named Bella. We saw her in the dogs home when she was 4 months old and we all fell in love with her and the boys chose the name Ellie but when we got her paperwork it seems she was called Bella by previous owner, she will be 13 in May and her body is ageing fast. Rescue dogs are the best, loving and loyal, I think they know they have been chosen and given another chance by people who really want them. -

OK Monday weigh in - down 2lb [emoji2]. The coming week is tough eating wise. We have the races on here this week and it is a huge event for the town and brings in many £££s as well as the male population of Ireland. I'm going on Tuesday (charity event with food included) and on Friday (the biggest day as it is Gold Cup) with family. I have invited my brother and his fiancé to come stay and am treating them to Friday as it is his 50th next month and I didn't know what to get for present. My hopes for the week are not to put on any weight and not to lose any money. If I can come out even on both counts it will be a good week. -
