    Where are the 50s ???

Just thought I would post my 6 month post op stats. I have lost a total of 57lb and as I would like to lose 100lb that is 57%. I seem to be losing slow but sure, skin so far is OK. At the begining of my journey I used to get upset at the slow loss but I have come to terms with it now and at least I am losing. Clothes look better and I am much happier in myself.

    My Teenage Daughter Is Jealous

I know there is a cost implication but don't wear the clothes she has outgrown, seeing you in them could be causing her a lot of pain.

    Uk Post Op Diet

Post-op the diet is pretty much like people from the USA post. I had fluids for 2 weeks, soft/ mushy food for 2 weeks the solids were introduced. I used protein drinks ,yoghurt drinks and sieved canned soup for the fluid stage, puréed food and Greek yoghurt for the mush stage and reintroduced solids one thing at a time. You should get a diet program from the hospital.

    Bank Loan

Sorry to hear that. Is it possible to get a credit card, some have low rates for x months. Where are you going to have the surgery, does the hospital do its own credit plan? I had mine with cosmetic bliss in czech republic.

    Protein Shakes

I am 51/2 months out and I have lost 53lb, I am an older sleever (53) and I am happy (most of the time) with that progress but at times I want it to be more. In my heart of hearts I would like to lose 100lb so I am 53% there which is not too bad. When I started this journey I thought the weight loss would take 9-12 months but it looks like it could be 12-14 months, again not too bad considering I have been overweight most of my adult life.

    Protein Shakes

I am in U k and get my Protein powder from myprotein.com. They have a large variety of flavours and sell sample sizes so that you can try them, just put in whey protein in the search box on their site. Delivery is fast, don't pay for super fast delivery. I have the chocolate mint which is lush, vanilla which is nice and creamy (I add coffee powder to this to make a change). I have had a berry one in the past which was nice and a cookie and cream one - this one I was not too keen on as it had a coconut aftertaste but I did finish the packet.

    I Need Your Input Please!

I do not wish to put a damper on it but you may not meet your PCT requirements, where I live in the SW the BMI limit is 50 unless you have co-morbidities. I read about this limit (my bmi was 48) so did not even approach my GP. I ended going private in europe. Cathy

OTR as you use an ipad can you help me please? How do you post a reply to a topic, it is easy on the PC as a box appears but I don't get that on the ipad version
  16. add Protein powder to 100g of 0% greek yoghurt, depending on your protein powder this combination gives approx 30g of protein. PS when you first add the powder and stir the yoghurt goes quite dry just keep on stirring and it comes good
  17. Take your protein powder (20g protein) and add it to 100g of 0% greek yoghurt (10g protein) mix and eat! The yoghurt will go dry at the first mix but keep on stirring and it will come good.
  18. I have onl told a couple of people at work, when others ask "what are you doing?" I reply "smaller meals, high protein and no bread" this is all true. If anyone specifically asks if I have had surgery (they haven't yet) then I have decided to give them the full version.
  19. I measure myself weekly(same day) and I measure: bust, waist, hips, left thigh, left upper arm and neck. you may also want to add calf and wrist. Some people measure right side too (because I am right handed I found this too akward). 4 months out and a total of 30" lost

    Nsv(Maybe) & Onederland

Well done you! you are obviously doing things right and it is all coming together, keep on rocking that sleeve and you will achieve your 6 months goal.
  21. Danni, I'm in the UK too. I am 4 months post op and I have lost 45lb. That loss may seem low compared to some but I am OK with that. When I started this journey I had in my mind that it would take 9-12 months for the weight to come off and at this rate it will. Where are you having the op? I had to go private (because I was not fat enough for the NHS!!) and I ended up going abroad to Czech Republic. You will find this site invaluable for info and support. Message me if you want. Cathy

    April Sleevers Losing Hair?

I have just returned from the hairdressers and I have had mine cut shorter. I warned her that lots would come out in shampooing and it did! though she did say I have more than plenty left which is good.

    Losing Slow?

I know I have said this a few times on different posts but I will say it again - measure yourself. I am a slow loser (44lb in 31/2 months) and I do get discouraged when I see some of the losses that people post but I find that by weighing and measuring if one does not go down the other does. I weigh and measure once a week.

    Dad Almost Died From Sleeve

Glad to hear he is well on the road to recovery, it must have been a painful and scary time for you all. God Bless.
  25. I weigh and measure myself once a week. I find that if the scale does not move much then the inches do and it stops me getting dishearted.
