How was your 5:2 day today?

Doh! He doesn't meet the 6ft criteria. I'm just hovering at the same weight, totally my own fault as I am not focused. I know what I need to do but just not in the mood at the moment. I supposed I'm just concentrating on the other things going on. At least it is not going up and I am forcing myself to keep the exercise up as I do think that this helps with mood swings. I'm going to clean out the freezer today so that I can make room for Christmas food and start making a list. I wonder what I will find at the bottom of the drawers? I just presume the dog will have an interesting dinner tonight. I'm a feeder so I will enjoy this job. Am I behind or in front of you ladies (time) I can never work it out. Have a good day.

How was your 5:2 day today?

Fast day yesterday and it went quite well, trainer been here this morning so feeling tired now. I must go and make myself a healthy brunch so that I don't waste that exercise. I have sent a PM to coops asking if she is OK and saying that people have noticed she is missing. Coops and I only live about an hour away from each other and we have threatened to get together before now, we should really do it. I am keeping the emotional eating under control for the moment, not sure how that will be when I have to put the house up for sale. We have decided we are not doing that until the New Year so that we can have Christmas here. This house was a 10 year house in our 'plan' and we have been here 8 so we are only shortening the plan a little. Unfortunately unemployment didn't feature in the plan nor did loss of the business. Well a shake up is not a bad thing. For anyone feeling lost/ lonely/'heavy'/ unhealthy I offer up positive thoughts. I love this group.

Globe, I know what you mean about weight and the scales and 'goal' but as someone brought up recently that is how we measure our success and it is a mindset we have to get away from. We have to find a different measuring scale. I'm sorry that you feel like you do but as you say no one is mentioning weight here to make anyone else feel bad. The cool kids here look in the mirror and notice the changes in you and say 'wow look at you - you are doing so well' or ' you look a little sad today can we help you'? A bit of an excess weekend and the 1lb I claimed on Friday unfortunately has gone but hey ho it's only a lb. I had my first green shake today and it wasn't too bad, I need to experiment with ingredients, determined to get mor veg in each day. Fast tomorrow and I am looking forward to that. On a personal note just had a phone call from hubbie and the Co he works for ( and owns a bit of) has folded so that's his job gone. We knew this was coming and he has battled on for these last few months to make things better but it was not to be. We are quite resigned about it and I am a great believer that things are meant to be. It is a huge blow at the moment but in a year or so it will be the best thing that has happened to us. It will more than likely mean a house move in the new year unless he finds a job but at 57 that might not be too likely. I am an emotional eater so I have to be careful. Though as we have been living this the past months I think I have got the sadness and tears out, better not eat with relief now. Hope everyone is well and I'm so pleased we are all back together. PS Swizzly we all do really appreciate you setting up the gmail group account, we were all floundering but you stepped in and got us organised. Thank you.

    Ipad App

Things are nearly back to normal, thank you. One problem I do have when accessing using an ipad is that if anyone puts a link in their post when I click on it a new page appears but it remains blank.

Happy birthday Cheri, glad to hear that you are on the mend and you have had a nice weekend. Totally deserved.
  10. Ladies, our 5:2 group does not seem to be showing up on the new app. Do I have to do anything to get it to appear? I am accessing using an ipad.

I will post a message on the gmail so everyone knows. They just need to sort out the posts we view, personally I'm not interested in band or bypass posts, then we will be back to normal.

Hidden as in no one rules reads it either?
  13. Rev, what do you use for snacks? Like you I'm in the UK so I know what is available. I use deli24 cheddar sticks wrapped in ham ( 50 cals, 5g protein, 1g carb) or mini baby bel light ( 50 cal, 5g protein), 2 of either of these can fill me up and I get 10g of protein in.

How was your 5:2 day today?

It's an unofficial weigh in today (official is Monday) but I need a bit of cheer in my life at the moment, so the scales say I'm down 1lb so that means I have lost the holiday weight and I am back down to my lowest. I just need to be good over the weekend to keep it that way. Cheri hope the shingles pain is subsiding and that you heal up quickly. I have signed up to the gmail group but I hope we can keep this thread going too ( so long as the site gets back to normal) as people just embarking on this process or those who have just had it find out lots of info from us about what a 'normal' sleeve life is after the honeymoon period of dramatic weight loss, or a some of us are doing the slow plod of weightloss.

    Longest Stall Ever! Ugh!

Do you use mfp which will give you a record of you cals, protein etc. I know that some people have posted that they find they need more calories when they have a heavy exercise program so try increasing your calories but in a good way maybe with some extra protein.
  23. Well done to you, enjoy your holiday and exercise.

Ladies we need to lift ourselves up, the changes on the site seem to have got us in a funk or is that just a coincidence? Let us celebrate our achievements. I will start it and this is coming from a woman who likes to hide in the crowd: I have lost 92lb and have 8lb to go to get to my goal ( that could change). YEH I can fit into some size14 garments in M&S ( don't know what the Us equivalent size is) YEH I exercise YEH I wore shorts in public for the first time this year YEH I own a swimsuit YEH I love my sleeve YEH Come on post your own lists, nothing negative only positives. Let us lift ourselves high. Edit: one more - I don't need a seatbelt extender on a plane YEH
