Go Wanda, I used to enjoy curves (my equivalent) when I went. Try to plan ahead for the days you are going instead of going with how you feel on the day. Is is easy for you to get there? Best wishes.

How was your 5:2 day today?
UK Cathy replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sheryl- I'm a great believer in 'sleep is a great cure' - without it we really don't function right and when we are so tired it is easy for things to overwhelm us. So glad that you seem to have it under control and that you feel much happier in yourself. Sarah you are a true friend to your friend and I hope that she finds a path/program that leads her to good health. Good fast yesterday and I did see 170 this morning but I am not claiming it until I see it again tomorrow. I just had a NSVS - I ran on the elliptical for 3 miles, most I have done previously is 2 miles. That might not be far to some but for me it was like scaling a mountain and I reached the summit! -
Calling BS......getting irritated

Work out your loss as a percentage of the total you want to lose eg if you want to lose 100lb and you have lost 40 you would be 40%, which would be incredible after such a short time ( I don't know what you want to lose just made up the numbers). If you are comparing yourself to others who had their surgery around the same time but have lost more they might have to lose a lot more than you to reach their goal, so comparing % is much better. But best of all do not compare yourself with anyone, this is your own personal journey. -

Recomended places for gastric sleeve
UK Cathy replied to sunshine59's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You do not have a sleeve fitted, sleeve surgery involves having up to 85% of your stomach removed. I am in the UK and went to the Czech Republic for my op, unfortunately the company is used has gone into administration. There are other companies in the UK and they use Belgium, France, Poland etc. usually there is not much follow up when you return but someone else might come on and say different. There is a UK site called WLSurgery.com where you might find more info. Hope you find all the info you need to make the best decision for you. -

Gutted, 171 on the scales and I am claiming it but then realised I had done my lb to stone calculation wrong to put into the BMI calculator and I have another 2lb to go to get to overweight. So 169 here I come, takes me into the 160s too - I'm not giving up. -

Hello lovely people, as usual this thread moves on so fast. Coops, hope your surgeon can suggest something to you, maybe if he gives a definite yes or no that can help you get your mind around it. If the answer is no you then know it is something you have to live with and so you can get some coping strategies into place. Also if an expert says it is OK then you might just feel better about it. Wanda so glad 5:2 is starting to work for you, I do encourage you to get a regular exercise routine going. Kim, those pictures of you were fab, loved the corset. Denise, hope Bill returns soon and you can sort things out face to face. Sheryl, you cannot be responsible for the Ex's living arrangements, especially as you have already been helping him and he knew the deadline. It is emotional blackmail. Sarah, those readings are amazing, you must be so glad to have found 5:2 Florinda sorry your friend is a jerk, I salute you for picking yourself up and carrying on with your lifting even though just being in the gym with him could be stressful. As for me I am desperate to be overweight. I am back down to my lowest (172) but 171 would make me overweight, I have seen that number in the last couple of days but it hasn't stuck. Fast day today and I hope that helps. Sorry to anyone I have missed. Going to exercise now, shower then to work for a 1pm - 9pm shift. -
International Travel vs. Protein
UK Cathy replied to laiprincess326's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in Uk and use myprotein.com - check to see if they ship to Ireland. They do taster packs so you can check out the flavours. I buy their whey isolate. -
Bye Bye Little Miss Fatty !

On the way back just smile sweetly as the nearest man and ask them to put your bag up on the luggage bin for you and ask again for them to get it down at the end just say "I hurt my back" - worked for me. -

For breakfast I have Greek yoghurt, raspberries and I top it with oats then I sprinkle with powdered sweetener that has cinnamon added. I find the oats keep me full.

I'm certainly no expert but breathing difficulty is so not right, why would this be linked to your period? Go and get yourself checked out. If it is dehydration they can give IV fluids, if it is nothing they can reassure you. -

Denise it sounds like you had a lovely night and you are really smitten, hope it works out for you. -
There is. Uk site you might want to visit it is WLSurgery.com on it you will find people from different areas of the UK, questions on nhs funding as well as private providers. If you are already under a weight loss team you should ask them how they see your journey panning out, time frames etc. otherwise maybe try your GP and see if they can help push things along for you. Good Luck

Sarah, that is lovely and you must be so proud of him. Unfortunately there are so few pictures of me with my boys ( they are 20 and 26 now) because I was the one who volunteered to hold the camera. It was easier for me that way as being behind the camera was better than being in front of it. Doesn't leave many pics for them though. -

LMD can you tell me if you stopped taking your supplements altogether or if you did not take enough. I will be 2 years out in April and am really interested. I take a multivitamin with iron each day as well as biotin and B12. -
I did the equivalent of curves for a year and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it was attended by people of all ages and shapes and not Lycra gym bunnies.

I too ventured into the thread which may/may not have upset LV as the title drew me in. However, after reading a couple of posts I was really really offended but then I went back and checked which forum it was on and as it was the atheist/agnostic I left the room as people are allowed to have their space yo say what they want. If I hadn't checked where the posting was it would have been quite easy to post a reply which could have upset people in the room. It is hard when viewing on a tablet or phone ( I think) to see the area you are venturing into as the subject of the post is bold and you automatically just click on it if it appeals to you. Maybe we should have a notice somewhere reminding people to check the area of the forum they are in before sending a reply which is the opposite or might cause controversy with the original post.
