I found this info to be helpful. Hope it gives you some ideas. http://www.northwestobesitysurgery.com/pdf/sleeve-gastrectomy-diet.pdf https://docs.google.com/document/d/15XvP0U-k1FhNjDd1omkMPYPhioXgSQW0yqqERXqTcIQ/edit http://www.peachtreebariatrics.com/docs/Gastric-Sleeve-Patient-Manual.pdf -
If I'm not mistaken, dumping syndrome is more done by those who had the gastric bypass. I haven't had any problems with that nor have I read that anyone else has.

I have had salad as well and have tolerated it pretty well, but as JenC said, everyone is different so you may have to try a little and see how you are affected.

How Can I Tell When My Sleeve Is Full
tjloser replied to Shubox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My signal is I get a hiccup and that's it for me. Just one hiccup is enough to know that's it or I'll over due it. Great signals huh?! -
Just thought I would ask, are you including some form of exercise in your efforts to break your stall? That seem to always help if not.

The Doctors where I had surgery would not do surgery on a smoker and you had to quit a month before surgery. I have never been a smoker so it didn't affect me at all, but there are those that have quit and are happier for it.

Happy sleeve day and a quick recovery:) -
I was sleeved July 10th and I'm feeling the same way. I'm cold all the time and can't seem to warm up. I guess I won't warm up until the winter when the heat is turned on:)

Feeling Frustrated And Depressed
tjloser replied to milkD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It sounds like you are really frustrated, but I think that you need to relax and enjoy the journey. You sound like you are doing all that you are supposed to so you have to let your body do what it do. Some people, when they have a lot of weight to lose will lose a lot at one time, but on a smaller frame it won't come off that fast. Some are just slow losers and that's not bad as your body has time to catch up with what you are losing and you won't have as much hanging skin. You can't compare yourself to anyone else because you are you and different and will lose differently than someone else. I haven't dropped a significant amount of weight but I am surely happy with what I have lost because I know that I would have struggled to lose these 30 #'s and then struggled to keep them off. So now I know they are not coming back. Try not to stress so much and enjoy your sleeve and relearn how we need to eat for life and the #'s will come off. And good job on the 47 you have lost:) -

Thanks for the update. I always wonder how you're doing with all that you went through, so it's good to know that you are doing good and having success with your sleeve. -

They should have given you one so that you will get the anesthesia out of your lungs. But try to take a good deep breath every hour and I know this hurts, but you need to try to cough some too. That helps. Maybe call your dr's office and see if they can supply you one.

Newley Sleeved 4 Days Post Op
tjloser replied to VerticalMorey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Walk, Walk, Walk. The more walking you do the better you will feel. It helps move the gas, so walk as much as you can. Hope this help. -
Well I found out I had gallstones 4 weeks after surgery so tomorrow morning I will be going in again at 5 weeks out to have my gallbladder removed. I wasn't happy about this but nothing I can do about it. I would rather have it taking care of before there's a major problem. It wasn't due to the wls, as I've been having some of these feelings for a while now and plus I haven't lost enough weight to cause that problem. Well I have to be at the hospital at 8:30am so I'm going to get it together and go to bed. I'm not worried right now but I know that will change in the morning when I get to the hospital. Good nite all.

They did not do an ultrasound before my wls. But I started having pain on my right side and wanted to make sure it wasn't something with the wls. They did an ultrasound and found stones. Well I had my surgery this morning and all went well. I'm home and resting. I'm glad it's over, now I can truly heal and enjoy my sleeve journey.

My surgery to remove my gallbladder is set for Thur. the 16th. I'm not happy about having to go back thru surgery but what else can I do. It doesn't sound as bad as I feel it will be so I'm going to not worry about it and just get it over with.

I've been having this pain in my stomach on the right and upper part and my Dr. sent me for an ultrasound last week. Well the results came back and it looks like I will have to have my gallbladder removed. It shows I have gallstones, but I don't think this is just happening as I can remember this same pain over the last few years but not really knowing what it was. So I can't blame it on wls, just something that has happened. I'm not happy that I will have to go thru surgery again as it's only been 4 weeks so I'm going to stall as long as I can. I actually see my surgeon Fri. the 10th so we will discuss my options. Surgery is just not something that I want, but we'll see what happens.
