Yayayayayaya!!!!!

I have the ones from costco and I do enjoy the taste of them. I have found very few that I like the flavor of. I understand what Chamie is saying. The instructions do not give you definate instructions on how much or what quantites to take of these items. Yes they give us a list but do not say... You are allowed 3 of these and 1 of these per day. We are here making changes in our lives and it's frustrating enough with all the "requirements" we have to do before our paperwork can be submitted to our Insurance Company and then the wait for the word on if it was approved or not. But to be told to go on liquid diet without some guidelines on what our limits should be calorie wise or oz wise just adds to the frustration. We want to do the right thing and not blow it because we didn't know something. We all need support not attitude. Thank you for remembering that.

When I tell those closest to me about my plans to be Banded to gain better health and stop the express train to Type 2 Diabeties .............. this is what I hear........ I hear from the female friends are things like "Good for you" "Yayaya", "Good Luck", etc. The Males however always say "I hope you find it's worth the risks" and "You know your boobs will shrink" Oh Males you silly creatures.... Big boobs = Huge Butt I'd like to be healthy and not worry about Boobs

So I guess with the change in Procedure from Lap Band to Gastric Bypass I don't really fit into this group anymore

Bayougirl, You look fantastic!!!! Well I'm a 44H so do I care if they shrink??? NO!!!!! I"m tired of lugging them around!!!

I had my one on one with My Dr. Today. I have to go on liquid diet and lose some weight before surgery. No specific amount but he asked that I work on it and really try. He also discussed my health history with me and other things going on and he strongly recommended Bypass over lapBand. Going forward with his suggestion of doing the Bypass after our lengthy talk about it all. Surgery date is the same but new paperwork submitted to Health Insurance for approval which Dr. says is not a prob as it's been done before. The office didn't have any samples of the protien shake they recommend so I stopped by Costco and picked up the Protien drink he also recommended from their. I will start to incorporate it into my diet and get used to it now and not wait until the last minute. I'm nervous.

Congrats!!!! I so hope they find I have Hernia and can stop the heartburn and the costly medicine to prevent it!!!!

My Paperwork was submitted sometime around the 20th and I got my approval yesterday, May 1st. Today the Dr. Office called to schedule the surgery date. Tomorrow I have my One on One with my Dr. Wondering if he is going to put me on a liquid diet from now on going forward and Yikes!!! Nervous!!!!

Thank you for the information. Now to find out if my insurance covers the fills or not. Either way it won't change my mind about getting the surgery!!!

I plan on taking measurements of Bust, Hips, Waist, Upper Arms,Thighs, and from shoulder to shoulder. I want to see the results on paper to help me stay motivated and not discouraged. Also pics in the same outfit as well.

Has anyone here went through Health Net and or Talbert Medical Group in Fountain Valley CA? I want to know what to expect. I have completed all my required steps. The Support Group meeting, Dr. Talk, Nutrition class, Psych eval. Now I am waiting for my paperwork to be submitted and am curious on what to expect.

I made an appointment with my Dr. and when I was asked the reason for my appointment I told them I wanted a referral for weight loss surgery. When I went to the appointment my Dr. was very happy with my decision and referred me right away for it. She wants me off my meds and healthier and says the surgery will be a big plus.

What is "blind" fills.

I am also going through Dr. LaPorte's office. Thanks for the heads up on the long wait. I am waiting for insurance approval and they will only approve me for Dr. LaPorte's office so I hope they work with me on Surgery dates as well!!!

I had my Chemical induced Stress test today. UGHHHHHHHHH It was just as bad as I remembered the first one I had 8 years ago. Just glad it is behind me now. Just the Psy. eval to go on Weds then paperwork will be submitted for approval.

I've tried unsuccessfuly before to do the Atkins Diet. I don't cheat on it and follow it closely but never lose an ounce.

Rebecca you are welcome. I guess the money we save on all the other food we were used to buying can be spent on our lifetime supply of vitamins and Supplements and NEW CLOTHES!!!!!!

I love Dr. Oz! :wub: I feel he offers topics that are current and of interest and he introduces them on his show to educate his viewers to what is out there. His segment on the HGC Diet was wonderful. He never said he approved of the Diet and was able to share information to the viewers so they understood the Diet better to make their own choices.

Thank you!!!! This was a big deal for me and I was not so sure I could give up my morning coffee!!! I do not plan on giving it up and I drink it black so I am not worried there. I never found it to cause me to have an increased appitite.

I had my Required Nutrition class yesterday morning which I found very helpful and my Dr.Group Recommends Vitamins and Supplements from https://www1.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog. The Nutrition lady passed out chewable samples which were not bad at all.
