    I'm back :)

lol true. I thought the same thing. I think I was pushing too hard and too fast. I had just undergone a complete thyroidectomy in October and was pushing to get this done before year end. Between getting the surgery set up, getting paperwork and time off from work scheduled and throw Christmas in there, I think I was just exhausted.
  2. I haven't been here in a while so thought I would stop in, say HI and catch everyone up. I went in for surgery on 12/18. At the beginning of the surgery, my heart beat went out of control and I went into v-tach with my heartrate at 180 bpm. They stopped surgery, closed me up (only one incision had been made) and sent me to cath lab. Luckily, I had no blockages, plaque, disease or damage. They have no idea what happened. I was on a heart monitor for 2 weeks and that showed nothing so the cardiologist released me for surgery. I again in went in for surgery on 1/28 and it was a success this time. I have lost 12 pounds since surgery. I was on liquids until this past Thursday and now am cleared for regular food. I know, I don't understand why not soft diet. I have essentially put myself on a soft diet for a couple of weeks to promote healing of the pouch. I am still having a tough time getting my fluids in. I just plain forget to drink. But I am working on that.
  3. I am so upset with myself. I started my journey earlier this year. I have all my appointments done, my nut done, my psych done and my surgery date of 12/18//2012. I was so psyched and came here and read and studied and took notes and starting jumping into conversations and trying to make a home for myself. And then, the crap with my thyroid started. And it took off like a rocket. I went from a few months ago to not even knowing i had a thyroid to having a total thyroidectomy 3 weeks ago. And I lost my steam. My motivation. For some reason, I really don't care about the surgery. But I do..KWIM? Granted I have dealt with horrible vertigo from my inner ear since right after surgery that was finally diagnosed today. How do I get back on track? Is it my mind playing with me? Am I just lazy? Am I just scared? I have asked myself all of these and can't pinpoint an answer. Please - any input, any suggestions Thanks everyone!

  6. I had my last appointement before approval this past week. My surgery date is December 18. I have my EGD on December 4. I am getting psyched! I am having a total thyroidectomy on Oct. 4. I feel like my life this past month was spent in doctors offices and hospitals. I have not been doing well with my diet and am feeling discouraged about that but I think it is stress. I am doing my pep talks to myself and am trying to get back on track!

    I Quit.......

Buddies sounds great! I was afraid to do the electronic in that they resemble the real thing too much. I loved it but knew it was time to do something. I was afraid if I didn't it would hurt my chances on having surgery. GO US! lol
  14. I haven't had surgery yet but I love this place. The way I work I can't attend Support Groups in my area so I come here and read and read and read and take a gaziliion notes. The people here are awesome and so supportive. I have never ever seen anyone ridiculed for any type of question or concern. I am single and work 3 jobs and basically have no friends ....since I have no time for a social life. You can do it... and I am so sorry about your Mother.
