  10. I had this same problem from 3 months post op. Drinking 2% or full fat Lactaid milk helped. I also switched from fat free to 2% or full fat yogurt. If I can't find full fat lactaid milk I add h&h or heavy cream. It does the trick! Fortunately for me, cheese (full fat of course) never became a problem. 11. You've not ruined your sleeve. You just gained what you needed to. Perhaps do the 5 day pouch test or 5 days of protein shakes, meats, nuts, etc, to break the carb cravings. Then introduce healthy whole grains back in one at a time to maintain your new weight. Congrats on your success thus far!

    One Year Post Op

    Incredible!!! Such an inspiration
  14. So sorry you are going through this! I am an emotional eater in recovery. I too suffer from depression. Medication helps with the depression, and being nearly four months post op has given me time to build new habits. Just as you've done before. What I understand now about emotional eating is that I couldn't eat enough to feel better, even with my full stomach! It was never enough. You can do this! See a doctor and a therapist. We are here for you

  19. I ate a small bite of maple sausage patty this morning and slimed for the first time. I am 12 weeks post op and truly believed that I too had a sleeve of steel. I guess not! Perhaps it was the combination of sugar and fat (grease)?
  20. Everything said here rings so true. I was sleeved on 3/22/12 by Dr. O in Illinois. I look and feel like a completely different person at 39 lbs down since POD (49 since start of process). I now weigh 168 and am 38 lbs to goal. The hard part is that the food demons remain. My weight loss has slowed, and so the thrill and distraction of the frequent scale changes and healing concerns have given way to the reality of life post op. Food is not my friend, it is fuel. I can't use it for comfort or entertainment-not even on special occasions! I still have to make right choices (including eating enough) despite how I feel about eating at the moment. I love eating nuts, and can easily exceed my calorie goal by several hundred if not careful. I can also find myself going hours without eating if not 'interested'. Yes, the challenges of this life are real, but I wouldn't change a thing!
  21. Right after surgery I craved chips and ketchup. It passed. Thank goodness!
