I had a similar situation when my son was two. I tried to play out side with him more, playing ball, go to the park, walking around to smell flowers, finding bugs, take him for a ride in the stroller, rode him on the bike. Sometimes it was hard and i only got a 10-20 minute walk because he was not in the mood after a long day. We would play head sholder knees and toes. I tired to think of thing that he would be interested in and that I could get some exercise as well. It is not the same as the gym but it felt better than nothing to me. Try jumping rope, great cardio even if for only a few minutes at first. Put some music on and dance around while you are doing laundry. I just try to get more movement in when i am at home doing chores. Best of luck to you!

My Dr said you could drive 24 hours after your last dose of pain medication. I was banded on tue 7:30 and drove on Thursday 3:00 ish (seat belt was fine but, but port is just above belly button and that felt weird with my what I was wearing.) I felt worse on wed (and could not have driven sore and swollen) and better each day after that. It seems that everyone is so unique on how they heal/recover. You may just have to take it one day at a time to see how you feel and what your Doc wants you to do. Best of luck!

Was banded on Tuesday and was able to wear my (loose)jeans on Friday to school. My stomach is still a little swollen but not that bad. My port is just above my belly button so I don't wear anything that hits at my waist. That incision does not hurt, but is tender. I find that the swelling changes if you are walking around for awhile or resting. Good luck to you!

I am banded! Arrived at 6:00 took me back at 6:20 to sign papers and start the IV. Surgery was at 7:30, woke up in recovery around 10. Move you to secondary recovery in a chair / lounger. Made sure pain (soreness at port site) was under control, vital are fine and that you can sip water & tolerate ice chips. Was able to leave once I went to the bathroom at 11:10. It was great having a pillow for the ride home. Once home walk walk walk and sip sip sip. Took some pain medication at 8pm and have felt good today. The worse part yesterday was getting up to a standing postiton very sore at port site but once I was up, walking felt pretty good to me. I had my water and would sip and walk. It was much betther than I had thought it would be! Good luck to everyone today.
