I was given a Px for resolvable Zofran. It has helped tremendously. My Dr called a couple hours ago to check on me. I was able to ask a lot of questions and he was very helpful. Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I've been walking a lot and I can tell its helping a ton! Oh and I do have a Px for pain meds...it's liquid Lortab.

I don't know what I'll name my band yet, but I know she's a girl! She went in yesterday (the 27th) around noon. All went well. I was home around 6pm...after a 2 hour drive. All four surgeons with my group where there and they were fantastic. My nurses were wonderful too! Now my sweet Husband is taking care of me and doing a great job! I'm in a lot of pain, but its not completely unbearable. I've got my hot pad on me and am taking my meds on time. Did anyone have problems with dry heaving?

Well, hello fellow LDS-er! What a great question. Here's what I suggest. Take the bread and mush that puppy up. If it doesn't get mushy enough, wait for the water and that should take it to a liquid. Also try to get a small, crust less piece.

I'm sure there are many others out there who are in the same boat, were in the same boat, and will be in the same boat as me...I'm a bundle of nerves. I'm excited and scared all at the same time! But the goal is a healthy body and life style. This body has brought 4 children into this world...now it's time to get it healthy again! Good Luck to all of you getting banded soon. <3

I'll join the band club tomorrow morning. -
...well, and I lost weight during my 6 month diet.
-
My Dr only required (for me) a liquid diet for 24 hours before surgery...nothing after midnight. I triple checked and sure enough it was right. I personally chose to start my liquid diet on Sunday. My surgery is on Thursday. So 4 days liquid. I just want to be super sure I'm good for surgery. My BMI is just at 40. So I was told that was the reason for not doing more.

I promise to keep you on the up and up. Call your Insurance and ask them what's going on. -
My surgery is scheduled for this Thursday, the 27th. The ONLY person who knows about it is my Husband. I have chosen not to tell any of my family and friends. I think my siblings would be receptive to it because my oldest brother was banded 3 years ago this month. He has lost over 100 lbs and is keeping it off. He looks fantastic and feels even better than he looks. Our Mom died 2 days post op with DVT (deep vain thrombosis) after having Gastric Bypass. This was in May of 2001. We know it wasn't the GB that caused the loss of our Mom. She could have gotten a clot at home. Any of us can! Certainly the surgery increased the risk. But we are all at peace with our Mother's passing. This isn't why I've chosen to keep my surgery a secret. I've made this choice because I don't want ANYONE to judge me. Maybe I'll open up later. Till then, I have LBT!

Thank you! I love and miss her a lot. I'm proud of the Mother she was for me and my 7 other siblings. -
I'm on my pre op liquid diet. I've been bought Unjury and Body Fortress from Wal Mart. So far, I like the Unjury ok. It doesn't have a nasty after taste, so that's great. I looked up on Pinterest some protein shake recipes. I found some good ones. I suggest you do the same.

Starting My Journey
DesertRose80 replied to Amy9187's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It really depends on what your insurance requires. I asked them to fax me all the info they required myself and my dr to do. I made it into a check list and stayed right on top of it with my Dr office. Do the same...that way NOTHING is missed. -

Good Luck to all of you! PLEASE keep us updated on how you're feeling. A lot of us are crossing over to the other side on Thursday. -
I finished my 6 month nutrition plan on 8/10. The office sent in my paper work on 8/12. Two weeks later we heard back that the office had forgotten to show documentation of 3 office visits during the time working with the nutritionist. They sent that in and I heard back on the 13th and am having surgery on the 27th. So over a month. But not too bad.

Hi Guys, my surgery is scheduled for the 27th. It will be outpatient and we have a 2 hour drive home. What should I wear home? Should I borrow my sister in laws Moo Moo?
