    An "Interesting" Year (long, sorry)

Don't be shamed!!!!!! Any weight loss is better than no weight loss. Don't look back and only look ahead. Please stop beating yourself up. Leave the pass in the pass. Today is a new day. This year WILL be better!!!!!!
  13. I was aware of the warning for people with autoimmune diseases. Before my surgery, I consulted my family doctor and my Rheumatologist about the contraindications of the band. Both doctors strongly encouraged me to get the band. Both doctors said the benefits of the Lap band out weights the risk. 11 months later and no problems. Another PRO: my need to take antiinflammatory meds has drastically decreased. I have not took a pain med in months. I still have pain but I can tolerate it without medicine. EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT. The good thing is the band is not permanent and can be removed if needed. Even if the band didn't help my symptoms, the weight loss has done wonders for me......I LOOK GOOD!!!!!!

    Starting the process.

My insurance company required a 6 months waiting period. I have to wait 8 months due to some health issues. While getting prepped for surgery, I remembered thinking boy 8 months really flew by fast. Use this time to get your mind set adjusted to a lifestyle change, ask plenty of questions and get ready for a new you.

    An "Interesting" Year (long, sorry)

I could of wrote this myself!
  16. I have Lupus and Fibro. I was banded on 4/3/12. I have lost a total of 65lbs. I still have pain but it's more tolerable. I have much more energy now. I am now able to walk 3 miles with ease. A few months ago, I ran up my steps with a full laundry basket. My 11 year daughter was in shock to see me running up the steps. I didn't evening realize I was running until she started streaming "mommy, you are running" Lap band is not a cure my weight lost has really helped. Good luck with your journey.

About to pay the deposit but...

Failure would be not doing it. The Lap band is not another diet. It is a tool to be used with the proper food choices. Your mindset must change in order for you to be successful. I was banded on 4/3/12. So far, I have lost a total of 65lbs. 26lbs during my pre banded waiting period and 39lbs since being banded. I should of lost more then 39lbs but I started cheating. But now, I am back on track. If I don't loss another pound, I am forever grateful for any weight lost. I COULD NOT lost 65lbs on my own. I have lost 6 pants sizes, have more energy, less body aches and feel GREAT! It was worth every penny. My only regret was not doing it sooner. Please do not let fear keep you from trying.
