    Help!

I'm 4 days post-op. Surgeon said he wanted me to work up to getting in 64 oz of fluids in a day as well as some Protein. I'm not having problems with the Fluid. However, the protein is my problem child. Yesterday, I tried mixing half a bottle of the Isopure Zero Icy Orange with a packet of Hawaiian Punch SF Orange Ocean mix. I drank about 1/2 of a 24 oz bottle giving me somewhere around 5 grams of protein. I just couldn't tolerate any more. This morning, I mixed up some powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup Protein powder. It smells good. However, after about 3 sips I wanted to wretch. There is just something about both of these that has a milkiness to them. Bad news is that I'm supposed to be on Clear liquids with clear liquid Protein supplements for 2 weeks. Any advice. PS---I'm trying the nectar this afternoon. Is that brand any better or am I just setting myself up for failure?

    Full Feeling?

Personally, I burp and get gurgly when I'm at a full point. That's when I know to stop. I was sleeved 7/18.

    Kentucky Patients

I was sleeved on 7/18 in nashville tn at centennial medical by dr Hugh Houston. I've been home since Friday afternoon. Minimal pain, no nausea, but it's a feat to attempt to get in all the fluid/protein requirements. I live in south central ky close to bowling green. Best of luck!
  4. I'm laying in my hotel bed waiting for the alarm to go off. My surgery is in 4 hours. Man, I'm hungry! Trying not to think about what's coming too much. I'm afraid I'll talk myself out of things. Prayers and warm thoughts are appreciated.

    Surgery This Am...

Mine is at 7:00 but I'm only a mile away from the hospital.
  6. Over the past two weeks I have all but stopped going to the gym and I've been eating crap. I went to the dollar general this morning and bought chips, dip, and mini candy bars. Why am I doing this to myself? I feel like crap afterward but the compulsion to buy the stuff and eat it was more powerful than my willpower to overcome. It makes me wonder if I'll even be successful post sleeve.
  7. You know, working out when you weigh 332 is HARD. Granted, it's probably not easy for any size, but I'm sure hoping things get easier when my weight finds another home. Right now, it's almost all I can do to walk for 30 min on the treadmill without saying to myself, "Nope, I'm done for the day." Part of me thinks that I'm setting my expectations too high. Thoughts?
  8. So I intend on taking measurements to document my progress prior to surgery and thereafter. My questions are-- how often are you or do you measure and what areas do you keep record of?

    Bottled Water

Speaking of flavorings, I find that Crystal Light gives me seriously awful heartburn! So, I've been drinking the SF packets of WalMart grape flavor and have found at the Dollar General Hawaiian Punch Orange Ocean, Lemon Berry Squeeze, Berry Limeaid Blast as well as Crush Strawberry and Grape. I know I look funny when I go into the DG and buy 20 boxes of drink mix at a time!

    Kentucky welcome

My name is Andrea, I live near Owensboro, and I'm being sleeved on July 18th in Nashville, TN at Centennial Medical Center by Dr. Hugh Houston. I'm reviving this thread, I guess!
  11. I have a friend who has yorkie males for sale right now. They're so frickin' adorable! They're CKC registered, have their first shots, and she's working on crate training them. The daddy is 4 lbs so they're on the smaller side. Downside? We live near Owensboro so that may be a little too far for you!

    I'm Hoping This Gets Easier.

No, my date is 7/18 (23 days, I think?!). I've been walking at a 2 percent incline and range from 2.3 to 2.6 mph. I get a little more than a mile in during those 30 min.

    Bottled Water

At home, I have a 32 oz Rubbermaid container thing that I fill up with my sugar free mix and tap water. However, the other night, I spilled Strawberry Crush water all over myself b/c I wasn't being careful. I'm considering looking for another container, but I know I want one that shows measurements. At work, I drink bottled water. For some reason, I just find it easier. I'm odd. Then again, I don't care for the taste of plain Dasani or Aquafina. If I'm going to drink plain water, then I prefer it to be spring H2O.

I have a food scale that I really like. It's a Taylor that's "Biggest Loser" branded. I got it at walmart for under 20 dollars. I'm actually thinking of getting another one to put in the car to take with me when I eat at other places besides my home. I know that sounds really weird, but I'm just trying to safeguard myself against failure.

I know this is posted elsewhere, but right now I cannot seem to find it. However, feel free to add me if you're using MFP. My ID is aml09rn. I'm really, really, REALLY going to try to track my food these last few weeks before surgery.
  16. July 18th here! I was talking to my personal trainer yesterday and he was genuinely shocked when I told him that my surgery was in 23 days. He said, "It was 2 months ago last time we talked about it!" Time really does fly.
  17. My best friend and his aunt both had VBGs done in 2003. He said the first 100 lbs came off without thinking but it is a tool and had to really work at getting the rest of his weight off. He fluctuates between 150-160 but has been able to lose and maintain a 170 lb weight loss.

    Any July Sleevers Yet?

I'm still hanging out on July 18th. Works for me though. My ethics class is keeping me busy these last 25 days.

    Self Destructive Behaviors

Thanks to everyone for their words. It means a lot. Therapy is covering everything from issues with me trying to live up to others standards to the relationship I have with my mom. I'm sure I will bring this up at my next appointment. After a day of reflection, I've realized I have got to be more prepared. I am not a cook and I go for convenience. Lack of available food in my house set me up to stop and justify getting crap to eat-- it was quick and simple. Weight loss is a journey. And With any trip, you're bound to take a few wrong turns. But if you keep reading the map (or listening to the gps) you'll eventually get to your destination. That's what I've got to keep telling myself.

    Self Destructive Behaviors

Thank you. . I actually am seeing a therapist. I try not to get too upset with myself when I make mistakes because this is a journey on so many levels. I guess I'm just frustrated with myself because instead really buckling down and getting everything in order the month before surgery, I'm going in the complete opposite direction.

    July Sleevers

After reading the boards for a while, I know I'm one of the heavyweight sleevers to be. I need to lose about 200 lbs. Any other July peeps in the same boat?

    Bmi Is 60

My BMI is 62.9 and I'm 5'1. However I started at a BMI of 67.2. So far, I've lost 24 lbs and plan to lose another 8-10 before my surgery in July. Like I saw the other day on pinterest, the weight didnt come overnight and it's not going to leave that way either. I'm in it for the long haul.
  24. I attended a mandatory seminar in march, had my nut eval, psych eval and surgeon consult all on April 24th. Was approved by insurance ( for the second time-- long story) last week. I could have scheduled my surgery this week had I wanted to but I decided on July because I had a break from classes and I was considering my coworkers ( not leaving them short staffed).
