well my doc wants 2 week liquid Protein diet prior to surgery. NO food. they told me drink 3 Protein shakes a day to replace 3 meals a day and Water in between. brutal much? lol. but since i gained 14lbs since my inital doc consul and i WAS 293 at that time...then i got up to 307 from telling myself im going to enjoy food now since its kinda like goodbye to it...lol. bc of that i decided to do an extra week of Liquid Protein to take off what i gained plus what the doctor expects (-10lbs) so all together i need to lose 20lbs. yikes! im at 304 this morning so hopefully ill get there =] ps. im hungry lol

im may 10th too! i cant believe in 20 days ill be doing this! ahh!

your protein shakes are thick? i mix my whey protein with milk and blend. not really thick though....am i doing it wrong?

i havent had my surgery yet but i feel im loksing my mind on the pre-op! lol its only been like 2 days but i got home yesterday and threw my sweater on the floor climbed in bed and cried saying i wanna eat! my husband started laughing. and then i did to. its crazy how attached to food one can become! im sure itll be hard for me too but i know that once i lose this weight itll make a world of difference! i wish you good luck! u got this!

i actually havent bought the chicken broth bc i didnt know that was considered clear liquid protein. oops!. im going to go to ralphs today and see what i find. i mixed the protein shake with water and i sooo did not like it. so i tried it with milk and it was better. i was actually wondering about mixing fruits with it too, bc i love buying the frozen packaged ones in the frozen sections of the store...or does it have to b fresh?

i wonder how or why your taste buds change?? i bought 3 tubs at walmart. 2 chocolate 1 strawberry. all together $60 they had told me to use them as a replacement for 3 meals a day. i was just confused on how many calories i should be takin in from Protein shakes a day.

oooh! im gonna get chicken broth and crystal light! i bought strawberry and chocolate. i bought three tubs at walmart. they didnt have much selection the strawberry is ok drinkin it its the aftertaste that is kinda ugh but its probably only bc its new to me. but by trying the chicken broth and crystal light itll let me switch it up as i go. surgery is may 10th ahhh!

ooh! i get it! thank you! thats what confused me..was the word "clear". i thought like see through and i was staring at my Protein trying to see if i could see through it. wow. lol i know i know. one last questions if it says 1 scoop=140 calories. how many times should i drink this a day and how many scoops per time?

Hi all, ive read lots of forum topics relating to my question but im still kind of confused. (sorry!) i start my liquid Protein diet tomorrow. 2 weeks. My surgeons office suggested Bariatric Advantage but ill need 2 High protein Meal Replacement bags to cover me for 2 weeks= $120 I wanted to find a store where i can buy my own. my question is ive read in alot of places "whey protein" is that good or is that like for people who take certain powder shakes to gain weight? can anyone give me an idea of a specific brand/s to purchase? (that i dont have to order online and wait. something i can find in a store. like a Walmart, target, Vitamin shoppe, GNC...etc.) thank you!

oh ok! do you by any chance know if you have a pre-op liquid diet how many grams of protein you should be gettin in a day?

My surgery is May 10th...mexican mother day =] its with Dr. Pham @ Saint Josephs Hospital in Orange, CA im starting my liquid diet a week earlier than i have to so i can drop some extra. so im starting my liquid protein diet this thursday the 19th. kinda nervous...3 weeks!! best of luck to you all!!

I've been wondering to myself lately....how will my relationship with my husband change because of the surgery? Me and my husband love going out to dinner and a movie and i understand we can substitute for healthier new alternatives. but im just curious how has surgery affected YOUR relationship/marriage? Did your significant other become insecure....are they more attentive now?..did you get back that honeymoon phase kind of love...? plain and simple...has the sex life changed? lol

Hey all. So i need some advice. Ive been at my current job for 2 months and 10 days. still on probation technically. the reason why im so confused and dont know what to do is because this is my first real job, before this i had been working temp. I dont know how to go about telling my employer i need time off. am i supposed to tell my supervisor, my manager or?? and what exactly should i have as far as paperwork when i tell them? what do i tell them? can they let me go? can i file for disability for the time ill need off? can i get disability if i get let go? i have no idea how to go about this. my surgery is May 10th so its literally 4 weeks from today on thursday. thanks everyone!

I FEEL tha same way =] even though we've only been married 3 yrs and ppl say i should still be in the honeymoon phase...we kinda are but we have a routine...i love our routine but i feel i play it safe and put boundaries on wut we do. like i will NOT have sex with the lights on lol. at all. bc im so unhappy with how i look i hold back in all aspects of my life from initimate to social to everything. hoping for a whole new me!

Thank you ladies! i really appreciate it. Im gonna call my surgeons office today and request a letter explaining the time ill need off and starting when. I know even though i need this job, my health has to come first. im gonna tell them and if they let me go, ill say thank u for the opportunity and walk out of there knowing i lost a job but im going to gain a whole new life =]
