since we are all new banders in this group I was wondering what "full" feels like to you? I just had a protein shake and after 4 oz of it I started to feel a little pain under my right breast. I little strange feeling in my throat... not quite like acid reflex but best way to describe it, now I have hiccups and a bit of pain across my back....I did liquids so I wouldn't call this stuck... just too much. thoughts?

Okay ladies I am 10 days post op and I have no fill in my band. My doctor doesn't believe in adding any during surgery as he says he doesn't have any way of knowing how much I might have swelled. So I know that I have zero restriction, other than the band being in place. Here is the thing. I eat 1/2 cup of mushy food 3 times a day and I have two small Protein Shakes and I am trying to get as much Water in as possible. I am not hungry at all. I get full on my 1/2 cup and sometimes less. I hear so many talking about starving and eating tons. I am not complaining but just curious is this even normal or is their something wrong? I don't vomit or have a hard time getting things down. If I did I might think the band had moved. Its been this way since my fist day. I am loosing weight and so that is great I am just worried what I will be like after a fill. I have also heard so many saying that hunger comes when you are healed. so am I not healing? I just don't know and I really wanted to ask you all what you think. I see the doctor next week so I will know more then but just wanted to know what you all think... Thanks in advance. Tam

Thanks everyone... I actually had my tummy growl today. I had 4 oz of yogurt at one sitting and that seemed like a lot for me. Thanks I was worried about how It would be after I got restriction. Of course I want to loose the extra weight but I want to do it being healthy too. Hope everyone is having a great week! -

What's The Most Ridiculous Weight Loss Gimmick You Have Tried?

this one touched me.... 1) jenny craig (did great till I started eatting my own food) 2) sensa (omg what was I thinking) 3) shakeweight 4) amberen - I don't even think I am menopausal yet! 5) well 4 life 6) herbalife 7)Metabolife 8) walk away the pounds - dvds 9) cabbage Soup diet 10) this isn't a diet but that stupid hair removal system the was a white can opener looking thing with the coil on the end that caught the hair and ripped it out at the root? I don't recall the name of it. I got mine at costco and it was like 65.00 I thought I was gonna die the first time I used it! wow I am such a sucker! -
I just wanted to say congratulations on your pregnancy! I doubt I will have more kids due to my age but I think that is the blessing of the band is that you can get pregnant and have all fluid removed so you can still nourish you unborn child. Maybe after your baby is born you can find another doctor to work with and you might find that you don't regret it. If you do have it removed. That is why I choose the band for the fact Its reversible. Good luck to you!

5/29 Surgery... Oh Yeah, That's Tomorrow!!!!
azhoselady replied to Bamabander's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck to both of you! special prayers send your way.... Looking forward to hearing from both of you on the banded side -
Ditto the little Rubbermaid containers... the portions are really small compared to what I was use to so this really helps me. this way I always have a quick meal and i think being prepared is a must to be successful! I have the ninja and I use it a lot for protein shakes but I think any blender will work. I am on the mushies stage right now and I would be lost without my little cheap (bought at Walmart for 19.00) food processor. Its little and only holds a few cups but I have been using it like crazy. Good luck and keep us posted!

Looking For A Decent Coffee Creamer Alternative?
azhoselady replied to Jellyfish's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am a coffee addict.. Or I was... I have only had two cups of decaf since I've been banded... I use 1 cup of vanilla almond milk unsweetened. A teaspoon of sugar free salted caramel torani syrup and stevia in the raw... I was a hard core extra cream and latte person... I know the torani won't work for you since it has splenda. but maybe the creamer and stevia will work! Good luck I hope you find the perfect mix to fit your new banded life! -
Thinking Ahead To Reaching My Goal...
azhoselady replied to bandedCary's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I don't have an answer for you just maybe a suggestion. I got a tattoo (my first and only) when I was 37 at a major transition time from me. I had been thinking about getting one for years. I have a trinity knot (looks like the charmed logo from the tv show) It actually is suppose to stand for the evolution of a woman.... Its small and on my shoulder. It always reminds me of my transformation in that time of my life. I am also of Irish/Scottish decent so it really fit for me. Maybe a nice little bird to show you are about to take off with a new life. I hope you find the perfect thing and that you hit your goal soon! -
Good luck to all this weeks newly banded... we are almost done with our May banders! Also wondering about steri strips... I am 10 days post op and I have been cutting them down like Dr. Said but when did yours come off?

Natalie, I am good. I made steak, cedar plank salmon and steamed broccoli, carrot and cauliflower and red potatoes for the family. I took 4 potatoes, and 2 of each veggie and processed them in my food processor. I also did 1oz of salmon and blended it. Ate my salmon first then the potato/veggie mix. It was very good! I don't care so much for the plain laughing cow cheese. I really didn't like the queso one. But the cream cheese was good. LOL I would rather have the cheese cake that's why I got fat too! Good luck with the restaurants I am not ready at all to go that route yet!

I have been buying laughing cow for a while it is really good. I love the strawberry cream cheese too have you tried it? How is everyone doing for the long weekend? BBQ's everywhere....

What Does Full Feel Like To You?
azhoselady replied to azhoselady's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
wanda I agree this is strange to me too. I don't have any fill in my band. Only 8 days out. I haven't been stuck yet as I am on mushies and I am so afraid to go through it. I am trying to force the water but that is a struggle. I think that the pain under breast and in back must be the "full" we know. It isn't a pleasant feeling either. I am curious to what everyone says. It makes me wonder if I will ever really enjoy eating anything ever again. -
My first meal... It was so yummy but I was afraid to swallow. Took me 30 mins to eat 1/2 of this 1/2 cup serving. How are you all doing and what do you eat now as mushies? What was your first meal? Hope everyone is doing great today!!!
