I did mashed potatoes, gritts, soups in a blender, refried beans. Did not think I would ever make it back to real food. Lol

I went through the exact same thing! There are so many commercials about food. I tell people it is more than a physical surgery it is mental too. I was mourning my old life, my old ways, I felt like I had post pardum depression again. It will pass though. It took me about 4 weeks. I told the nurse, surgery center and aftercare people that there should be more focus on the emotional part. I had my surgery 4/11/12. I hope things get better for you soon. Know that you are not alone in your feelings

Just saw a post on band complications that it has been linked to cancer. The acid gets caught in the stomach and causes cancer. I am worried about this!!!!

They said 2 days liquids then 2 days soft foods for me. I get my fills on fridays cause it is easy to get in and out cause of that reason.

I guess I am STILL not chewing my food well enough. I have food come up but I can keep food down. Is this close to the green zone?

I ate out one night and it was so good! But for about 4 days after my chest on the left hurt so bad!!! My back hurt some. They said that was my band telling me dont eat that crap anymore. No more cheese enchaladas!!!

Been there. I have 4 kids and my son in law was deploying... I got off track too. You can do this. 4 weeks seemed forever but you can make it. Your mind is messoing with you. That is harder than the gas pains. The blender will become your friend when it is soup time.

When I looked into Lap Band, the Dr I was using said he did not recomend it because it was so new. Looking on here I see how happy people are. I wish I had waited two months. I think I could have found another Dr who would have done it. I am upset with myself for rushing into the band!! I am in Dallas.

I have 4 kids at home. If I do.nothing then I will eat myself into heart troubles and other illness. I did this cause of the low risk and the down time. I told the nurse the reason I want the band instead of the sleeve. I do not want to die during surgery. I do not need to loose 40 lbs in a month. Slow weight loss is cool. I got the band but some Drs offer lapband with Plication. I wish I had gotten that WLS. But I am cool.

I guess in another few years there will be something newer and more up to date. I was self pay so the band was not cheap. My insurance will not pay for ANY weight loss surgery. I would have gotten it if it were included. But any new surgery of any type of Weight Loss is too much$$$$. Going through some more What Ifs!!!!!!

Will insurance cover the plication?

The emotional feelings are worse than the not eating part after surgery. Felt like post pardum depression for me. Everything got me upset for the first month. Those feelings will pass. The coworker thing....... That would have bothered me no matter what. That was just rude. Get a few drinks in you at the christmas party and lay into her a$$.

Anyone know any Drs in Dallas that do this procedure?
