    I totally agree. I'm not getting a fill until I stop loosing. Right now I do about 500-600 calories a day and it's working. Keep doing what works.

  6. We'll I'm someone that's over 400 lbs. I have lost 39lbs But it defiently wasn't easy. I know that it's hard and all I can say is keep your head up. Another suggestion is to keep track of you calorie intake your excersise that way maybe you can monitor all that and maybe figure out what's just not working for you. And also yu may need another fill. Sit down and talk with your doctor

    I am able to do 8 ounces in the the morning with my protein shake. And sometimes I might do two shakes but right now since I really count my calories I barely getting up to 50 grams on the protein. I dont think doing 8ounces is a big deal just try to get to that level slowly.

    I had surgery on a wednesday and was back driving on a friday. 3 day to drive and fully fully functional 2 weeks later

  11. I glad toknow someone is doing 500-600 calories a day. Most think thast I am crazy for only doing that amount. But it really does work for me I also on saturdays allow an extra 200 calories whichso far I have'nt used but anyway it's go to see someone else doing the same.
  12. I had my Surgery almost 6 weeks ago. And since then I been doing great. My questition is why do so many people on here right after surgery run to get a fill. I thought the purpose of the band was so that we now have a tool that we can use to help us control our food intake. I figure that would take at least about 2-3 months to do. But it seems like a lot of people get fills less than that time after surgery. I feel like you have'nt had enough time to know if you can do on your own or not. Does any else agree:confused:

    I buy the Whey Protien from GNC their brand. And mix it with about a tablespoon of my favorite sugar-free fat-free pudding mix and fat-free milk. Put it in the blender for a couple of seconds. It's sooooooo good.

    I don't have a next appointment. The nurse told me since I was doing so well that I didn't have to come back until I wasn't losing any weight. Or any other complications happen Hopefully I want ever have to go back(haha).

    I figured you all would know best. You have probably interacted with a lot more band patients on a regular basis and also probably hear a lot more about their eating patterns and what works for them "realistically" I guess I just felt like this was a very generic outline. But believe me I am not trying to be difficult, I just wanted your input. Now I am in no way trying to follow a "low-carb" plan--I just find that I am really happy and satisfied with fish and chicken and veggies? Which is so incredibly unbelievable to me! Like tonight I had about 3/4c of this 99% lean turkey chili I made (with no beans) and two mushrooms cut up and sauteed in 1 tsp of olive oil, I would much rather eat that than 1/4c chili, 1/4c mashed potatoes, 1/4c fruit, 1/8c of veggies and 1/8c of cottage cheese... what the handout suggests... Thanks so much for listening--I hope I am not being difficult. Your not difficult. But eating a smaller portions of each food group does help with the wieght loss. I haven't had a pleasure of going to a specilist but they dont know everything. Just take into consideration what she is saying try it see if it works and go from there. Me I only eat 500-600 calorie a day and on Saturday I allow 800 calories and then I back to 5-6 calories on sunday I know that this does not work for everyone but it's working for me. Does what's best for you but also consider some the dietician's input.

    You are going to be judged either way. Don't worry about. Tell who you want and don't tell who you don't want to know. Do what you think is best. I told some people but eventually I came to the reliazation that maybe I could help or motivate someone by telling them my story. Good Luck

    I feel the same way. I talked to a lady in the Dr.'s office today and she said that she had only lost 35lbs for the past year since surgery. That amazed me. It kinda scared me. I'm thinking I've already passed that but am I going to get stuck. That's why I 'm trying so to loose this wieght I never ever want to wiegh 489lbs ever ever again:)

    I had those same types of problelm for almost 3 1/2 weeks. BUt one morning I woke up in my chair and that pain was gone. I was finally able to sleep in my bed and not in a chair.

    Don't worry we are all diffrent. Keep going it's coming. Some might say I've become obssesive but not me I defiently look at the surgery as an investment. I was self-pay so I didn't invest 14,000 dollars for this not to work:)

    I say eat at almost the same times everyday.That way you can get your body use to a schedule and hoefully like me I usually only start to get hungry when my time to eat.
