Sorry- I kinda just FOUND this tread- so you are going to have a TT? Where in KC and how much $$. I really want one but no DR here-Joplin, MO even know about the band so I'm LOOKING. I really don't have the $$ sittin around to do it- but want to really bad- Feb 08 if I do have it. Tell me more, if you don't mind.

I don't know what my fillis currently- I've only had 2 and I am WAY TOO TIGHT. My last fill was June 5th- and I should have went back for an unfill by now. The problem is....I live 4 hrs from my doctor and am a self pay patient and didn't want to take the time or $$$, to be able to eat more. I've given up though- I'm going for an unfill tomorrow- just slight. I just want to be able to eat healthier. I live on ice cream and mashed potatoes- everything else COME UP!!! I'll keep you updated. My weight loss has been great needless to say!! I'm posting this to say being too tight is miserable- conservative is OK!!! Trust me.

I used it and it worked really well- I ate something that seemed logded about 12:00 Wed, and had never experinced this without it it going away fairly quickly. This didn't hurt as bad as everything I'd Drink would come right back up. so I intially emptied my stomach before I went to bed, I actually peed all down my leg, from tring to throw up so hard to dis lodge it (if I'm being honest). Then drank the meat tenderizer with hot water (like hot tea). All day long yesterday I was able to drink well and started muschies last night, so definate improvement!!!! My stomach and ears even burned all day, like the tenderizer sat in there and tenderizered my stomoch walls as it did its thing. It was an aweful feeling- I'm back to normal now!! Thank Goddness. I was always real relaxed for 5 months now will be much more careful. We live and learn. FYI: I think it was the top of the chiken pot pie crust from Cheddars that was stuck, and I only had about a teaspoon full of it!!!

Let me know how your floro goes. I'm doing the SAME thing. I had my 2nd fill and my last fill the 1st of April, and as of yesterday something is NOT right. I called the doctor and we are going to try and wait it out. I can hold ALITTLE bit of water today, so far. I'm 4 hrs from Columbia, so that sucks. It's weird- I've done fine this last 5 months-now this??? I thought something might be stuck- so last night did the whole hot water and meat tenderizer and am BURNING RAW today all down my thought and in my ears like when you eat hot sauce. This is horriible and scarey any advice? I'll be on all liquids FOR SURE!

SO, I have read some of your June Challenge and want to jump on with the July challenge if you all have one.....I've been slacking this month and need to get back into the groove, so let me know what the plan is......I'M GAME.....Watch out lap-band.

I'm down 54 lbs from Feb 28th 2007. It feels great. I feel alot of restriction after just 2 fills. I need to drink more water. It is SOO hard to get it in, in between meals. I would recommend the band to anyone who struggles to loose weight because they love food. The band forced me to focus on something besides food. If I have learned anything, it is that it is okay to FEEL hungry and not full. Afterall it's just a feeling.

Hi guys, I'm from Joplin and wish I had, had surgury closer to home. I feel alot of restriction with my second fill- prob too much. Hope to hear from you all soon, by the way when is the support group? I would love to go and meet some more bandsters from the area-

Everything happens for a reason, don't be down in the dumps. Just keep tring to talk to the doctors office and see if they can do ANYTHING to help. Where do you live? If things don't work out until next month start keeping track of days until the seminar to make time go by faster. GOOD LUCK

Hey, how do you feel since surgury? I also have the 10cc band and had my second fill yesterday. I had 4CC put in my first fill and felt alot of restriction. My Dr. wanted to put in 3CC yesterday- but that freaked me out alittle bit- so we compromised to 1.5CC. I was alittle discourged to have the VG band were you? Now I'm glad.

you must feel like a whole new women. Keep up the good work. just like everything in life, it's all about making the right choices. About the baby thing, you are never READY. So when it happens- BE BLESSED. I'm excited for you!!

You seem to be doing really well with will power!! So does food get caught up or stuck? I still do if I eat too fast. I could eat anything if I chew it to death. I love how good I feel already with my current weight loss, that keeps me motivated. It's easier to eat healthy and exercise when you can phyically see the results weekly. The scale going down keeps me motivated, too- I'm at 274 and can't wait until 269 then 259 they all seem so much less. I'd recommend Lap band to ANYONE overweight. Dr. Pitt is a great surgeon.

I had my first fill on April 3rd, and it was horrible- I would have rather had surgury again. He couldn't find my port with the small needle, then the large, then with ultrasound HE FINALLY found it under floro. I was so worried from being on here that there was a complacation. He felt bad, but assured me that my next fill would be different now that we know where my port is. I SURE HOPE SO! Surgury was great, I had it on Wed at 9:30 left the hospital at 2:30 drove to KC to see my aunt that was in the hospital then home by 9:00. Went to Wal-mart the next day with my mom and then to work on Friday. (I have a desk job) My fill worked for about 4 or 5 days, now I'm going off pure will power and tring not to loose as much as just keep off what I've lost. Can't wait until my fill on May 1st. I'm self pay, so all my fills after that will start costing each time (which sucks). I sold my Acura SUV, to replace my surgury PMT. It meant that much to me. I'm glad I did it!!! Enough about me, when do you all go back for a fill?

By the way my total weight loss is 34 lbs, but don't know how to change my ticker. I'm down to 274 and it feels GREAT.

Hi guys, I've read all of your post and some of them made me laugh out loud. It's SOO nice to know that others go through what you do. I too was banded by Dr. Pitt on Feb 28th, 2007. I have the VG Band that hold 10 CC and had my first fill to 4CC 2 weeks ago. I called Sylvia today because I feel like I could eat the house!!! I felt really restricted the first couple of days and very satisfied and then it went away, so I'm going on pure will power. I live in Joplin, so have to travel 4 hours for a fill. I have 3 lovely children and am a single mother. Lap band is GREAT, so far. Hope to keep in touch, seems like you all are doing well- keep it up!!!!

That really sucks for us, because we have to use some serios self control. When do you go for your first fill- I go on the 10th of April for my first fill and am counting down the days. Good luck and keep in touch. Do you know anyone else with the VG? Your the only one I've heard from and that makes me feel alot better. I lost 17 LBs Pre op and don't want to gain it back.

I need to know if anyone has the lap band VG placed. It's the largest of the 3 sizes and I don't feel any restrictions at all. I do get full quicker, but can eat anything. Bread included. I've had nothing stick at all,and can even gulp fluids. Why? I'm having to use alot of self control until my first fill April 10th. I was banded in 2/28. My fills are 2cc at a time since my band holds 10cc total. I kinda blocked this part of the seminar out thinking that it did not pretain to me and now here I am, does anyone know anything else?

I am eating the same, with my diet- I hope I haven't messed anything up either. Does anyone know?

I was told that I could have anyting that goes throough a straw, so yesterday- I ate(very small bits) at 3:30 refried beans with extra red sauce, so they would be soupy- couldn't finish the last 3 bits and was still full at bedtime. This made me feel better because I'm only 5 days post op and felt like the surgury wasn't worth it- because I was STARVING, right after eating. The soups just weren't satisfing. It's hard to get my water intake. I think I'm dehidrated. I'm not a big drinker.

I was banded on the 28th- 2 days ago and have eatin 1/2 can broc cheddar soup and 1 choc pudding. I feel hungry. I have been belching alot. I'm not sure if I can hold out 6 weeks for a fill.

I was banded yesterday, drove home that same day and went and ran 3 errands this morning. I feel GREAT. It is the easiest surgury I've ever had. I lost 17lbs on my pre op diet and the nurse and doctor said that would help. Keep your heads up, we have new lifes out there for us.
