Dr. Ponce is my surgeon. Trish is heaven sent! Thank you both. I see youtube videos of tj and they are frightening. I live in Jacksonville so certain areas here are pretty bad and I know the same for Tj but cant help to wonder! How was your experience coming back across the border into San Diego?? -

Yeah i get car sick, and I don't do well on anesthesia so I know te less of a drive the better! I keep thinking the flight home will be so miserable. I sure hope I sleep through it. I want to get some preop testing here with my pcp before leaving for mx just to ensure I'm safe and ready for surgery. My main concern is dvt and blood clots/pulmonary embolisms. Ive never been at risk but it's still possible. -

Lissa, so the dr.s found something in your preop test that was suspicious for dvt or blood clots. Do you know what test they found this in? -

Endoscopy Moved From Outpatient Center To Hospital Because Of My Bmi
mommyinneed replied to pdog's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jenny is right... I work for gastroenterology and our physicians do high risk patients at hospitals simply out of precaution! Even those with low bmi who have serious health risk such as OSA/ sleep apnea, diabetes, heart conditions etc... It's in your best interest! -

I'm going with int hospital because I get the video of my surgery!! I feel very comfortable with a surgeon who records his every surgery! Although, once I get home it could be Joe blow on that table! Lol. Totally kidding! -
Anyone Atleast 2 Yrs Out?
mommyinneed replied to rdoactv's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Debly, my thought on why surgery is cheaper in any other country versus the us in my opinion has a lot to do with mal practice and the insurance the doctors are required to have. Mx surgeons are not required to have this which brings up many legal questions. The laws of course are different here and doctors have to protect their license. It's a shame that so many are sue happy. Don't get me wrong if a surgeon causes a death he should be held responsible however i would say very little die from surgeons mistakes and more so for illness and diagnosis already present! -
I will just miss you! Was hoping to have a few people besides myself suffering! Lol
