All the last minute worries have set in. I know I will be fine but can't help but think everything will go wrong and I won't make it home! Lol I'm going to miss my kids and worry myself sick until I'm in recovery! Ugh

So I called Aflac which is who my STD is through and was told this procedure could be covered however I have no coverage if I receive medical treatment out of the country!

I leave next week for surgery wtih Dr. Ponce and thought about everything I think except phone coverage and internet so today I phoned my plan and sure enough if I use internet while over in MX I will incurr a ton of extra charges as well as .99 a minute for calls and .99 per text! Has anyone found a way around this? Im taking the laptop and hope to just email but I will still need to phone my kids daily. Think I may look into getting a pre paid phone from mexico just to call my family for those few days if its pretty cheap. Anyone have any suggestions or experience they would like to share?

What was your preop diet? Mine is yogurt and water for 3 days but I have noticed some do slim fast and shakes. Is it different for due to bmi's?

I have short term disabilty through my work and they will not cover elective procedures. Now if I have a hernia it may cover it. I was going to ask that today. Anyone else have any issues getting short term for an elective procedure?

Wow, didnt think about that however the people i will need to contact do not have iphones or face time. LOL my mother barely knows how to work her phone. I didnt think about wifi However, att did not state if I used that, that i wouldnt be charged. They just said "do not use internet or you will face over 100 in charges"! Ok so do any of you know if hospitals in mexico have a blood supply incase something goes wrong? Do the surgeons verify what blood type you are? Also, i know some surgeons in the states give blood thinner shots post op, does anyone know if the mexican surgeons do as well? What type of pain meds do they give you? can you drink the next day? I have so many questions still. Help! I have 8 days till surgery,.

What I meant to ask was has anyone experienced this and did they know for sure if there was. I was informed there was two blood banks however, I wanted to verify.

My flight home after surgery will be a little over 4 hrs and I'm very curious to know how some of you survived the flight. I know my gas will be out of control.

Capt, was the bulk head like first class seats? Delta mentioned that when I called! I pictured it being a bench seat with just more leg room.

I ordered my wheelchair for post op flights... Do they upgrade or is it something you have to request and pay extra for? I tried to do that before the flight but it would have cost me an extra 1000.00!

Are all of you sure this fuzzy tongue isn't "thrush"? If it goes untreated it could be very painful and make you pretty sick!

Im scheduled for may 17th with Dr. Ponce. Please post how everything went. I heard they dont give you as strong pain meds as they do here in the states. Im curious if what they give and if it is truly not as strong. You will do well. Cant wait to here back from you!

As wondering the cost of meals for my spouse and broth... Etc. Trying to get an idea of what extra money I need to have for my trip. It's getting close and all the anxiety is setting in. Lol

I just read that most people are only to expect to loose 60% of their weight. How much has some of you lost? Are you at goal weight? And what's the average for the first month, second.... Etc?

Shelly, my day is may 17th as well! Add me so we can check each others progress! I'm counting the days too. So excited.

May date is may 17th.... Today I celebrated my sons 5 th birthday and after looking at pics from his party I can honestly say I can not wait! This time next year I will be at my goal weight and able to keep up!

Oh great... I just got my order a couple days ago. If it's not very good I guess I could mix it with bouillon cubes or canned broth.
