Does Anyone Have Any Regrets?
diochick replied to Dizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No regrets here, other than the obvious -wishing I didn't wait so long. I was sleeved 3/12, so still fairly new. I went to Dr. Claros, St. Lukes Bariatrics (PA ). So far zero complications! -
To Tell Or Not To Tell?
diochick replied to gettinthinner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am by no means an open book. I've told my husband, mother in law( only because she needed to watch the kids for me) she told much sister in law, and I told a friend of mine. I live in Pa, my parents live in AZ, I've never told them. I see them about once every 2/3 years, so it'll be a shock the next time they see me, but it would seem possible based on how long it's been since they saw me last. -
How Long After Surgery Can You "get Busy"?
diochick replied to FluffyBleu76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We waited about a week, but not due to the surgery entirely, we do have 2 small kids. If it were up to me, I would have been comfortable doing it within 3 days or so post op. -
I use the B.A. vitamins as well, and just the thought of putting one in my mouth turns my stomach. I'm searching for something much better as well.

Bananas? Good Or Bad?
diochick replied to gettinthinner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My post op diet specifically lists a ripe banana as OK in the mushy food stage. I haven't tried it yet, but it certainly does seem that every Dr has very different guidelines after surgery. -
Eating Out... Restaurant... Fast Food.
diochick replied to sabrina140's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first experience with this the other day, I got the tuna roll at Friendly's, and I just ate the tuna with a fork and left the bun. My hubby got the fries. I was shocked that I was able to eat a good amt of it. Also, o figure I'll be having lots of soups while out and about. -
Gurgles And Green Pee
diochick replied to Cmullinvegas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hahhahaha, I'm sitting here with the gurgles as I'm reading this! It seems water causes my gurgles most of the time, and it's so quiet at my job, it gets slightly embarrassing sometimes when the silence is broken by my new noises. -
How Soon After Vg Did You Go Back To Work?
diochick replied to Origical's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on a Mon, and was back to work that Thursday. I sit at a desk for 10 hours, so it wasn't a strain. I was fine going back when I did. I was tired and a little foggy headed, but I work 3rd shift, so that feeling isn't too far from the norm. -
I've worked the same shift at work for 6+ years now(11pm-9:30am 4 nights a week) and while I've always been a heavy person, most of my weight piled on after I started this schedule. I'm wondering if there are others who work this shift and have been successful with the sleeve? I was sleeved 2 weeks ago, and so far so good at work. I sit in front of a computer for 10 hours, so I was always mindlessly grazing and snacking. I've noticed that behavior had completely stopped, and I no longer have an urge to do so. I'm hoping this new behavior sticks!

Thank you Meli, and it sure seems like this week 2 stall is fairly common. Wish I knew this beforehand, I wouldn't be freaking out so much

Thank you everyone, I just keep telling myself, it's only been 2 weeks.

Phew! Good to hear! I'm terrified that I'll go to my 3 month checkup, and I'll be 250 lbs. Maybe it's because I've been heavy for sooooo long, I really have a hard time visualizing myself be any lighter than this.

How Long Were You In The Hospital?
diochick replied to madambones's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in overnight. I had my surgery at 9:30 am, and was discharged around 3pm the following day. I was up and doing laps around the hospital floor by 7pm, and tested fluids around 9pm (the day I had surgery). My surgeon came by after he was done with his surgeries for the day- only reason I was there until 3-he checked my incisions, pain levels, and fluid intake. All the surgeries done through my Dr office are overnight stays. -
I also had my surgery on 3/12, and have had a hard time with the mushy food stage. I've been eating a lot of Greek yogurt (more protein) and unsweetened applesauce. We're going to attempt Shepard's pie tonight just to mix it up. I don't really have a desire to eat much of anything. I'm still mainly doing the Popsicles and jello.

Middle March Sleevers
diochick replied to desertmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I had my surgery 3/12. I no longer have pain, and my incision sites have pretty much healed. I'm off the pureed food, but am eating mushier foods, such as chili and applesauce. I've noticed a small individual container of natural applesauce is still a bit too much for a meal. Since surgery I've lost 20lbs. Good luck on your progress!
